I read this over the Christmas period. I loved the first books written by this author but felt this one fell flat. An ex-soccer player and a high flying disgraced soccer executive find themselves in an unlikely situation. They end up coaching a girls soccer team in the middle of nowhere. I enjoyed the dual POV but it really was a slow burn read. There were some laughs along the way but the ending was predictable.
Starting this tonight. I‘ve read two Christmas books so thought I‘d change it up!
Some young boys on a soccer team in Thailand were stranded in a cave in 2018 while exploring with their coach. The country and people from across the world came together to save them. Obviously, the rescue was incredible and it‘s a wonderful true story, but the book is written in a way that made it drag even though it was short.
I have not touched a book since Saturday. 😩😩😩😩
I‘m reading this during a break from reading Pat Conroy‘s book “My Losing Season”. Conroy‘s obsession with basketball is not my own. My passion is soccer so I‘m having a terrific time reading Mia Hamm‘s book about my favorite sport. 🥰
Have you been watching the Olympic Games in Paris? Tomorrow my son's running hero competes in the 1500m final! We've also tuned in for gymnastics, swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball and the list goes on! In the spirit of the Olympics, let's share favorite middle grade books about athletes!
Tagged book is my most recent sporty read about a girl on an elite soccer team forced to deal with an inappropriate coach.
