pickI finished this last night and haven‘t felt like I could articulate a review. I loved the generational scope and how we got a large chunk of the lives of the Cleary family. I felt some of the religious aspect was drawn out and tedious. I felt it difficult to not get irritated with the characters and their decisions. I actually probably liked Justine the most. Her caustic demeanor reminded me of a more forward thinking Scarlett O‘Hara. #thornbirds

pickMcCullough is a sadistic woman.. She loves a good heartbreak and apparently I do too. This epic saga spans several generations of the Cleary family and builds compelling characters. However, I felt that each time the focus changed from one generation to the next, I had to start from square 1 again & wasn't able to build quite as strong of a bond with each character. But the last paragraph made me tear up and all was well again ☺️
