Here's my #bookspin list for March. I kept the first half of the list mostly the same from last month, but changed it up a bit further down. Can't wait to get started!

I have a lot of conflicting feelings about this #bookspin choice. I picked it because it's by my dad's favorite author and I liked the movie growing up.

Even though it's an exciting adventure story, any real enjoyment I might have taken out of reading it was overwhelmed by it's racist language and attitudes. I don't think I'll be revisiting this one in the future, but I'm glad it's off my TBR :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this light, historical-fantasy romp through England for my first stab at #bookspin. The characters were kind, compassionate and a little snarky. Aka, just about perfect ❤️

Managed to squeeze in a last minute #newyearwhodis pick from @DebinHawaii. Normally mysteries aren't something I gravitate towards but I loved this creepy, dreamy story full of women taking care of one another in the face of pure evil.

Absolutely loved this #newyearwhodis pick from @DebinHawaii ! I'd never heard of the book, but it was such an interesting and dynamic story set at the end of the reconstruction era, that I couldn't put it down once I started it.

Just got these 5 books in a personalized book bundle from the New York Public Library. I've never heard of any of them and cannot wait to get started reading!

So excited to get started on this #newyearwhodis list from @DebinHawaii ! There are so many books that I'm excited to read, but I'm going to start with The Downstairs Girl and The Sundown Motel! If I have time I'll follow up with If I Had Your Face, Know My Name, and A Woman is No Man. Although, I'm very much a mood reader so really this whole plan could change at any moment 😂

I can't believe how long it took me to read this book. It is and compulsively readable. Thank you for choosing it for @Sward7 This has by far been my favorite round of books chosen for #lmpbc, I loved every single book that we read in group e.

Sylvia you'll be getting this and The Supernatural Enhancements in the same package since once I picked this up I couldn't put it down and finished it in 2 days 🤷‍♀️

I loved this sweet and surprising novel recommended to me by @Amandajoy for @monalyisha's #newyearwhodis

The characters felt fully realized for such a short book and I loved the descriptions of late 80s/early 90s Alaskan childhood. I grew up in roughly the same era in a neighboring Alaskan community so some of the points really resonated: work on the slope, walking up to exit glacier and fashion/trends taking 5 years to reach Alaska (if ever 😂)

I got this in a Christmas book exchange that my partner's mom and I do every year. I'd never heard of it and I was so pleasantly surprised, not just by how well written the story is, but also by the fact that it features two wonderful, good men, something that is lacking in so many books, especially fantasy novels. A great start to my 2020 reading!

This isn't a perfect novel (the family is way too cutesy), but it was a very readable book centering a story that needs to be told more. ❤️

Can't wait to get started on this fantastic #newyearwhodis list from @Amandajoy ! The titles with bees next to them are the ones I'm going to try and read first. I'm also excited for the books with bows next to them, it'll just probably be later in the year by the time I read them.

And I love love love Margaret Atwood, but I'm not including The Testaments because returning to Gilead is too depressing a thought at the moment 😬

I've had a very grinch-y December so I'm making up for lost time and watched everything except the free space (One Magic Christmas, which I watched yesterday) today. 🎄🎅

@GypsyKat I'm so grateful for the bingo card recommendation of Christmas in Connecticut! I can't believe I'd never heard of it. It was fantastic! It's officially on the Christmas rotation now.

I had such a fun time with this last year and read so many great books courtesy of @monalyisha, including the tagged book! Can't wait to do it again next year!

I loved loved loved this book. It was one of those wonderful surprises where I didn't know much about it going in and fell in love with the characters and the writing. I hope my #lmpbc group members enjoy it as well. I'm out of town for the holiday @Sward7 but will mail it out first thing Monday.

I cannot believe I'd never heard of this Alaskan author while I was growing up. The tale is incredibly descriptive and well written, I'm so glad to have found this book in a national park gift shop.

This copy of Jane Eyre was published in 1943 and I bought it at a second hand book store in Boulder, CO when I was in college in 2007 or so. It took me quite a long time to get around to reading it, but I'm so glad I finally did. It was creepy, gothic, romantic (if you can ignore the manipulation and gaslighting), and shockingly modern in it's tone and prose. I absolutely loved it ❤️

Just finished this third book for #lmpbc and loved Jackson's terrific, creepy writing. My only regret is that I read this a month too early 🎃

I loved this genre mixing, terrifying, optimistic novel. It combines so much of the world we live in (climate change, technological advancements, good coffee) with lovely sci-fi/fantasy touches (talking birds and doomsday machines). I can't wait to read more from Anders ❤️

The post mark will be a little different than normal. I've been such a mess lately that I took the book with me on a trip to North Carolina and mailed it from there instead of from home 🤷

Finished this hilarious and sweet read for a long distance book club I'm doing with two of my best friends, inspired by #lmpbc. The characters are incredibly flawed but I was happy and surprised to see how much they each grew and matured throughout the story.

I really liked the book and loved participating in #lmpbc with Laura, @emilyjwhit9 and @Laughterhp! I can't wait for the next round of sign ups since I missed the newest one 🙈

Loved everything about this book: Kossola's harrowing narrative, his storytelling, the explanations on how Hurston developed her relationship with him and the literary intrigue that followed investigation into her work decades later. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Working my way slowly through Washington Black in this gorgeous yurt in Nova Scotia. I'm loving the book but it's taking me longer to read than I thought it would because of the violence and pain Wash has to deal with. I keep having to take breaks after reading a couple chapters. But I should be done with it in the next week or so and have it sent out! #lmpbc

For #lovehate day 4 my pick is Marguerite and Armand from Camille. Even though you know it won't end well for them, the pieces where they're happy and together in the countryside make it well worth the read.

My favorite couple comes from Kingdom of Ash. Lorcan and Elide are my everything and Lord Lorcan Lochan was one of the most delightful surprises I've come across in a long time. #lovehate @ErinSueG @WhiskeyMistress

The "darkling" is the worst villain ever. He is a cry baby, misanthropic, boooooring bad guy and I really don't understand the love he gets from fans. By the end of this series I was convinced I was never going to read anything by this author ever again. Then I read Six of Crows without realizing it was the same author and fell in love with her work ?. Regardless the darkling is still a trash villain.

Oh The Twits. My favorite, ridiculous, evil couple that I've always loved. They are perfect in every way and are one of my favorite Roald Dahl creations, which is saying quite a bit. I can't wait until my nephew is old enough for me to share my #lovehate of the Twits with him.

I really liked this #newyearwhodis pick. Gay can make worlds and characters feel real in only a few pages, and some of her imagery is incredibly striking. A lot of the themes and language got repetitive though and I ended up not loving it as much as I thought I was going to. I also don't know if I'll be in a rush to read her other fiction, I'm not sure I could stomach the violence in long form.

This book. I've never read any of Roxanne Gay's books before ( I know, I know #badfeminist). But I've always loved her articles and listening to her give interviews. So far this book is only deepening my appreciation for her. @monalyisha was right in warning me what a tough read it is, but so far it's my favorite thing I've read this year.

This is a decent pick for me but I can't say I loved it. I was totally with the book, even through the random circus adventure that really didn't amount to anything. But that "big reveal" ?. . . It was too ridiculous, even for me. That being said, I've already requested the next in the series from the library #noselfcontrol . Thanks @monalyisha for the #newyearwhodis rec!
