I'm not even into #sports (so maybe that's why this was new info for me?) but this was such a good read, the narrator was great and I think it's so cool to see how the NBA has developed and because of a black player. It's very inspiring. At the end, the author does drop many black athlete and community achievements so also very educational in general #nonfiction #blackamerica #history

Currently reading this one. It's one I started when it was first published but didn't finish. Now I will. It's cool how I recognize some of the voices here from audiobooks I've listened to before #blackamerica #slavery #history

Great book. 4/5 ⭐️ with great narration by the author.

She touches on so many important, complex concepts with nonsense and integrity. I think she's one of the best black women leaders in our country. Who also happens to be conservative.

Glad I took the time to read it; I look forward to more from this intelligent woman.

• Recent Library Haul was very small but this one packs a punch and really brings the 🔥 to ongoing issues in #society. Thank God for common sense people like Mrs. Owens (and congrats to the author, who recently became a mother). Hope to dive back in later tonight; I think I'm in for a treat!! •

This succinct novella packs a lot of punch in 145 pages. The story of a Korean war veteran who returns to the home he despised all his life, Home portrays the idea of "home" as more than a physical place, but a sense of belonging. Of being wanted, of being able to fulfill a purpose. Definitely want to read more of Toni Morrison's meatier works after this #toughguybookclub #tonimorrison #koreanwar #blackamerica
