Brave New World | Aldous Huxley

Just finished reading Brave New World and I enjoyed it as I enjoy most Dystopian books. Not my favourite Dystopian book but it was still a good book that holds up today. It was the middle portion of the book that I found a bit harder to get through but I truly liked the beginning and end. None of the characters are likeable, but I enjoyed that fact in this book.

This was a great “no holds barred” read about an absolute legend written by an absolute legend. Gazza is a truly remarkable and troubled individual, I couldn‘t put this one down. #justfinished #gazza #paulgascoigne #livinglegend #autobiography #readbooks #drinkbeer #upthebooknerds #punkswhoread #football #footballlegends #soccer #newcastleunited #spurs #england #lazio #locallegends

This book was gorgeous in so many ways. The characters were fully fleshed out and incredibly multi-dimentional. There were a couple of typos/changes in font size here and there, but then again, I've never read an indie book before, and the pure human joy of this novel makes up for all that! #justfinished #lgbt #lgbtfiction #peterpan #fiction #queerfiction

I read this in 2 days, so clearly I enjoyed it!

Parts of the story were predictable, but that didn't diminish the charm of Richardson's novel. It beautifully portrayed the power of books, and served as a reminder to take nothing in life for granted. 4/5 ⭐

The JFK assassination has just occurred and is the backdrop of the story as a mobster is on the run and a housewife who needs a change. The book is is well written and jumped from different characters story lines seamlessly. The characters were well developed and intriguing. The book is a page turner that kept me wondering what will happen next.

The Summer We All Ran Away | Cassandra Parkin

A book about strangers and their stories as they are brought together over a summer - as well as the stories of those who used to live in the house. This book was much more dialogue driven than I usually read and this style didn't really do it for me - however, that is just personal opinion. The characters developed well throughout and the book was readable but the twists were predictable or unnecessary. The book was ok.

This was strange, very uncomfortable at times, but overall a fascinating read. Dystopian fiction at it's best! #catsoflitsy #justfinished #atwood #fiction #dystopian

I was able to finish this book at an appointment this morning and it was an enjoyable book from beginning to end. In this book we discover the tragic backgrounds of the characters but we also get to watch them come to terms with their lives and heal. The descriptive writing allows for the characters and story to intertwine with the setting and it is just marvelous.

The Midnight Side | Natasha Mostert

Was able to finish reading The Midnight Side this weekend and I found this book to be just ok. It wasn't a badly written book and the book moved along at a decent pace - I just wasn't able to connect with the characters and the book wasn't as suspenseful as one would have hoped for. However, I did enjoy the paranormal aspects of the book.
