repost for @RamsFan1963:

We have a very eclectic selection for June's #ClassicLSFBC. I think any of them would make for a enjoyable read or reread. As usual, the book with the most votes will be for June, and the next closest will be the choice for July. I'll announce the winners on Monday. #ClassicLSFBC

Jeg We voted early so missed out. Looks delicious. 1mo
LeahBergen I didn‘t get a sausage for voting here in Canada on Monday! 😠😆😆 1mo
CarolynM @Aims42 Australia voted in the federal election today. Our polling places are mostly school and church halls. A lot of their communities use it as an opportunity to raise money by holding sausage sizzles and sometimes cake stalls. It‘s become a part of the culture to buy a sausage after casting your vote. 1mo
CarolynM @TheBookHippie It‘s a community building thing 🙂 Doesn‘t matter who you vote for, everyone wants to buy a sausage. 1mo
CarolynM @Teresereading @Jeg Nevermind, maybe you‘ll get one next time😆 1mo
CarolynM @Reggie It was pretty good 😋 1mo
TheLudicReader I just heard about this…so funny! 1mo
CarolynM @LeahBergen We have to buy them from the fundraisers, they‘re not just handed out you know😆 I‘m watching the results coming in at the moment. It looks like we are replicating the Canadian result 🙌🎉 1mo
Aims42 @CarolynM Omg, I LOVE ALL OF THIS 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 How cool!! 1mo

I just opened some book mail to discover this atrocity. 😭 I hope it comes off.

marleed Ohh that‘s bad😟 1mo
Ruthiella Yikes! It‘s huge. Using a blow dryer to loosen the stickum often works for me. 1mo
Deblovestoread That is just wrong. Shame on them. 1mo

dabbe They owe you a virgin book! 😱 1mo
TheBookgeekFrau 😲🤯🤬 And to add insult to injury, it's upside down! 1mo
bookandbedandtea @marleed @Ruthiella @Deblovestoread @nanuska_153 @dabbe Fortunately, it came off pretty easily and didn't damage the cover. But sheesh! 1mo
bookandbedandtea @TheBookgeekFrau Right?! As if it isn't horrifying enough to slap an enormous sticker smack in the middle of the cover they also had to put it upside down?? 🤦‍♀️ It came off pretty easily, though, so all is well. 1mo
TheBookgeekFrau @bookandbedandtea Oh good! Because that was a pretty bad case of book abuse. 1mo
nanuska_153 I actually just noticed it's the federalist papers, that's such an interesting read (I love Constitutional Law). Are you going to listen to Hamilton while reading it? 😂 (Also love musicals xD) 1mo
bookandbedandtea @nanuska_153 I can‘t say I had thought of that but I‘m thinking it now! 👀🎼 1mo

TieDyeDude They are so lazy in their racism, they can't even come up with a good excuse. Nothing about "DEI" justifies erasing any mention of the accomplishments of someone who happens to be a person of color. 2mo

This was a great read. It definitely got my heart racing throughout. It definitely had an Orwell feel to it. It was truly worth the read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pickpick

Great collection of classic American documents, speeches, poems, etc. George Washington‘s speeches had a lot of big words that didn‘t say a whole lot. I also didn‘t know that it used to be first choice was made President and second choice was made Vice President. Teddy Roosevelt liked long, run-on sentences. The pledge of allegiance didn‘t originally have “under god” in it! President Eisenhower insisted it be added by Congress in 1954.
