Sproul outlines six major differences between the Roman Catholic Church and the Reformation, emphasizing that these are not minor issues that can easily be overlooked. On the contrary, they are significant matters that lie at the foundation of Christianity. This makes it an excellent primer for Christians interested in exploring these differences.

Saw this recommended a bunch. Engaging and pretty solid.

MaureenMc I haven‘t read this one yet but it‘s on my shelf. 2mo
BethM @MaureenMc it definitely held my attention. I was raised Catholic and left, but am now coming back to my faith. Until recently I‘d never experienced anti Catholic sentiment so this perspective really captivated me. 2mo
MaureenMc @BethM I‘ve read Hahn‘s The Lamb‘s Supper & would recommend it. It seems that many of the current “famous” Catholics are converts who grew up with, or were at least surrounded by, anti-Catholic beliefs. I find their stories quite fascinating, actually. Godspeed on your journey. ❤️ 2mo

Beautiful Eucharist | Various, Matthew Kelly
Mehso-so

This book was exactly as it was described to be. The descriptions of the Eucharist were great but I felt a little underwhelmed by some of the stories and the lessons.

This is certainly a much different version of events, a much different story than what was presented in Catholic school and by my devoutly Irish Catholic grandmother. Honestly, if my grandmother had actually known about some of these things, she would have explained them away or seen it as Catholic persecution. Sadly, this is how most people will take this entire book.

GingerAntics The same actions by anyone else would be swiftly condemned by these same people, which should tell you everything you need to know.

The evidence here is sometimes sparse because of the short nature of this book. I would have loved a longer book with the proper evidence Hitchens is known for digging up.

This was my gift from the local church. It passed the censors by being an unimaginative tattoo of the idea that "the Messiah is among you. Choose to make each moment holy." That's not how it works. Nobody cares. I am evil but I could choose to be good. So what? Tell me a story, like... The Five People (YMiH). Give me a vision of how life might work and how my choices affect things. This is a common flaw in "inspirational" literature. No story.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

This book‘s highest achievement is to take the reader into the mental and emotional reality of a possessed individual. The sensationalist stuff is set aside in favor of vivid, intelligent descriptions of what the five victims felt and experienced over many years as their free will was slowly and patiently subverted. It is terribly frightening but also tremendously empowering to understand the role that will and choice play in these situations.
