Celebrating my birthday today with ice, heat, painkillers and cake! Nerve pain from something in my back. But also reading my #sundaybuddyread in the sunshine for the win! As things calm down I may even run to town to get chocolate and cheese. 🎉

pick#DynamicDs Day 7: I loved seeing how the two friends were able to tell each other about the things they love through their dancing hands. The Afterword provides information about Filipino Sign Language and how it is distinct from American Sign Language. pickThis little novel in verse tells a big story. What a love story to communication, caring adults, friends, nature, and poetry.
pickI will read anything Ann Clare LeZotte writes; this one is a modern story. Her Martha's Vineyard trilogy left me feeling so educated as a reader. I'm not obtuse to what it's like for deaf children to be born to hearing parents who don't desire to learn sign language. This book, written in verse gave me Matilda vibes (minus the magic).
