Very, very short stories masterfully catching moments in time. Vivid & evocative pieces from skilled writers in good literary magazines. #microfiction #flashfiction #veryshort #emotional

12 year old Tomi writes “I Am An American”
while being forced into an internment camp, holding tight to loyalty in the face of injustice. ⛺️🔒
but the story leans into hope over anger. It‘s about quiet, perseverance, & belief in a country still stumbling toward its promises.
Note: it‘s a strawberry field not a cherry orchard haha 🤣

„Sing Muse, he said. Now do you hear me? I sang“ ~ Muse of epic poetry

Haynes spoke through Calliope and gave a voice to the broken women of Troy. It was nice to read the voice of the women in this war, I can only recommend it.

I had previously read the author‘s graphic novel, The Boy and the Man, which detailed the author‘s life and struggles recovering from his stroke. I enjoyed the graphic novel so I was excited to read his poetry collection.

This poetry collection is a poetry interpretation of the same events. I found this interpretation to be even better than the graphic novel.

I REALLY liked this book. I have now read 3 books by Christina Lauren and truly admire how one book can be more flirty, funny and playful while one like this is just pure, consistent depth of emotion. I honestly couldn't put it down. Such a great read. ❤️ #romance #emotional #greatread

So so good. It took a bit for me to get into it, but it made me so emotional I cried. That doesn‘t happen too often with books. The human experience is truly captured and expressed here. Such a wonderful story. #themidnightlibrary #fiction #emotional

BookLineNSinker I lived this book so much too! Based on your feed we have the same taste in books lol and this is one of my all time faves. Have you read The Glass Hotel? It's another all time faves but a bit obscure. 3y

It was a captivating story. I could not put the book down because I just wanted to know what was next. The end of the story, makes you feel something. The book is emotional but by the end you will feel a satisfaction and a new appreciation for your own life. This is a great read. The movie doesn‘t compare to the book, but do they ever? 🧐 #review #worthreading #emotional #appreciatelife #riveting #mustread #booksarebetterthanmovies #YA

Heart wrenching. An emotional rollercoaster of a decades-long friendship and truth about love. A devastating look at how life throws curveballs without warning or reason.

Trigger warning: this story does have instances of sexual abuse and drug & alcohol abuse/addiction

Story of an apocalyptic cult and the survivor. Narrative style shows the talent of the author, but sometimes I found the switching timeline/POV elements hard to follow. I didn‘t find this suspenseful or thrilling, more interesting and dark. It‘s slow paced and the ending was a bit less than desired but I would suggest it as a #dark, #emotional, and sad read for fans of reads ft psychology, cults, abnormal settings/plots etc 3/5 #thriller #suspense
