Andrew65 @Melissa_J No better occupation. When I was brought up in London we made regular visits to Hampton Court. One year we challenged ourselves and my wife and I visited over 50 castles across the UK. Who doesn‘t love a castle. 7y

Hard to choose a favourite castle, my favourites include Bamburgh, Dunnottar, Beaumaris, Caernarfon, Conwy amongst so many others. Melissa_J Wow! Thanks for the link. I‘m not familiar with Conisbrough. I‘ve really only visited the major castles - Windsor, Dover, Warwick, Cardiff, Caerphilly, Edinburgh, Arundel, Tower of London. But I can‘t wait until I visit again because I‘ll be all over various castles I haven‘t seen yet! Honestly, I was born in the wrong country 😂 7y

When I think of #estate I immediately think of Tara (I know, it's a plantation but it's kind of the same thing lol). GWTW is my favorite book, as you can probably tell my very aged, very well used copy 😂😂

Abney Hall was the country #estate of the Watts family. Marjorie Miller married James Watts, and they made their home there. A frequent guest was Marjorie's younger sister, Agatha Miller Christie. Estates in her novels, such as Styles and Chimneys, were patterned off the Abney mansion.
