I love illustrations in books, however some of the pictures scattered throughout the book caused weird formatting where there would be a blank page before the next. There were also several editing errors and use of AI art that made me regretting the $65 I paid for this edition. The story itself was charming yet short, and I wished it had been a bit more fleshed out.

A decent adventure story. Slow start, the ending is where all the action is. I loved the characters and their relationships. I‘ll pick up the next book someday.
Despite being the title and featuring on the cover, the wereanimal battle is about four pages max. 😒

Bloodlands was my top read and I just bought Snyder‘s On Freedom which I‘m excited to dive into.
It seemed to last forever ( but shorter than January 🙏🏻) and it meant lots of books although none of them really from deep in my TBR 🤦🏻♀️
