Good morning readathoners! I'll stayed up way too late last night, so I slept in a bit and am catching up on the #hour30 challenge. I didn't keep a lot of my old middle grade or ya books, and I was the kid who read way above her reading level (mostly because I thought I was smarter and more mature than I really was), but of course I loved Harry Potter. These are the new house editions I'm collecting, I can't wait to have the whole set! #24in48

#Hour30 challenge is all about YA so you know I‘m talking about Sarah Dessen! I‘ve had my copy of The Truth About Forever since graduating 5th grade (I‘m 26 now if that gives you context). Her newer books hit so close to home and I‘m loving it and can‘t wait to read more ❤️

I love reading YA and some of my favorites are Sarah Dessen books. I would say YA is almost 50% what I read, especially lately.

I loved to read as a kid and there were so many series I loved like Babysitters Club, Goosebumps, and Box Car Kids. I can‘t wait to pass on my love of reading to my soon to be born daughter. These are all of the books I got at my baby shower, her library so far. Most of them are from Usborne books. #hour30 #24in48

Hour 30 challenge. The young adult series that I have read multiple times as an adult but also shared with both my kids (and all my high school students) is The Hunger Games. MG/YA - with two kids these genres definitely dominate our shelves. Often we own two or more copies of a book/series since we read in English and German, but we also have occasional copies in other languages (Harry Potter comes to mind).

Gaiman is a favourite, lots of his books. Laini Taylor, Jonathan Stroud, but also battered copies from my youth: Volkov's retelling of the Wizard of Oz.

Good morning on day 2 of #24in48! For the #hour30 #MGYA challenge, I actually already used these books (is that kosher?) for #sff. However really a wrinkle in time is one of my all time favorite books! The hero and the crown and the thief were also favorites of mine. I recently read some of the thief books and they stand up- still so good! of the copies pictured, the hero and crown is the only one I‘ve had since childhood and you can tell 😂 📚

So my favorite series is Harry Potter but I feel I post about that too much, so I‘ll go with another one of my favorite series for the #hour30 challenge (a little late but I had needed sleep lol).

As a kid, I devoured lots of series (BSC, Sweet Valley, Fear Street) but now I can‘t seem to get through them. I‘ll read the first 1 or 2 and then move onto something else for a while and by the time I go back to them, I‘ve forgotten what‘s happening. This is my 4th attempt at The Dark Tower. I like the books but I hate the feeling that I‘m missing details that may be important later so this time I‘m taking notes!

I can‘t pick one #favoriteseries, but the Getty/Khattak mysteries are definitely near the top of any list of beloved books. The writing and the characters are all great and each book does what great books should do - stretch the reader outside of their comfort zone and make them FEEL. This shelf contains two other favorite series - Khan‘s fantasy series, The Khorasan Archives, and my small Akashic Noir collection. 😍😍 #24in48 #hour30
