My last leisurely Monday morning of the summer. I will be at work next Monday. ☹️ #coffeeandbooks #hummingbirds

AlaMich I start today 😕 Hearing that alarm this morning was rough! (edited) 3mo
Tamra I have to start prepping today. I‘m not going to hurry. 😏 3mo
Daisey Enjoy! Same here. I start tomorrow, so I‘m having a very leisurely morning before I go run some errands and finish some last minute prep. 3mo

#FridayHappyReadingHour
We need a better hummingbird book- I have seen 3 varieties at our feeder, but only 1 is identified in the tagged book. Suggestions?
Enjoying Tost Sparkling Wine, thanks to @Amiable while happily reading.

TheBookHippie I haven‘t found a good one either 😵‍💫😭 3mo
Aims42 Hmm, if I come across a good one, I‘ll let you know 🤔 In the meantime, enjoy your wine! 🥂 3mo

dabbe @spenmoll @TheBookHippie @Aims42 ... I don't know if you've seen these, but we absolutely LOVE these hummingbird feeders. 1st: easy to clean. 2nd: the birds can actually REST while drinking. 3rd: No need to use the artificial dyed food: just a 1:4 sugar/water ratio. 4th: Our birds LOVE these feeders!

Aims42 @dabbe Oh wow! I‘ve never seen this style of hummingbird feeder, I love your reasons!! Thanks for the link!!! 3mo
Amiable Which aisle in Big Y was the Töst? I went looking at the one in Old Lyme the other day but didn‘t find it. I probably walked right past it. 3mo
dabbe @Aims42 Yay! Let me know if you like them! 💛🤎🧡 3mo
mcctrish I‘m going to get one of this style feeder for my sister for her cottage - Happy Friday 3mo
kspenmoll @Amiable I am going tomorrow so I will check. It was on a top shelf- not with soda, next isle. Will let you know. 3mo
kspenmoll @dabbe I have one of these but I need a second! I did not even realize about the perch thing. The one I have is in garden. But now I want to replace the kitchen window one that is so active & we all can see them. My garden one I have to be on the porch. I do make my own sugar water, so easy! Thank you!!!! (edited) 3mo
dabbe @mcctrish YAY! 💛🤎🧡 3mo

janeycanuck Not a book but have you used the Merlin app? It‘s from Cornell and it‘ll identify birds by photo or sound. 3mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So many weeds are actually edible, like dock, careless weed, black nightshade, kudzu, and bastard cabbage.

This illustrated book goes over the harvest and preparation for each plant in great detail.

This beautiful red bush, unfortunately, is an invasive plant. I haven‘t seen them in #mytowninautumn for a while now. This picture is from 2015. #autumnplease

I‘ve had an escalating interest in foraging/identifying mushrooms🍄 🤗. I bought this guide recently, and it‘s been extremely helpful. I found so many great mushrooms over the weekend (that I never would have noticed if it wasn‘t for the guidance of this book). Would recommend for newbies. there isn‘t any medicinal information, but still pretty useful 👍🏽

In studying the plant family Plantaginaceae, I came across the genus Veronica. The common name of Veronica is Speedwell. Funny thing, Veronica Speedwell is the title character in Deanna Raybourn‘s current mystery series. 😂

EvieBee That is so awesome! We have a lot of Veronicas in our family. Had no idea it was a plant. Also...that series is on my list! 5y
StaceGhost I love all the little jokes she has characters make about it in the series it‘s so cute lol 5y
Lynnsoprano @EvieBee It is one of my favorite series. @StaceGhost There are so many levels to those books. 5y
