Since about 3 this morning the people that live above us have been apparently moving furniture using a skateboard with square wheels!! They have been loud since we moved in but in the past week it‘s gotten so much worse. It‘s so frustrating to not be able to relax in my own bed because it‘s literally loud noises every 3 min! 😭😭😭😭#rantover #thanksforlistening

Deifio Oh, that's bad! No wonder you're annoyed! Did you already talk to them? Sometimes people don't realize they're super loud. I hope it's one of those cases 😘 4y
sprainedbrain Oh no. 😫 4y
magyklyXdelish My upstairs neighbor is the same way. We‘ve even gone upstairs to talk to him and nothing changed 4y

Mrs_B Oh no! I hope it gets better soon! 4y
sharread I'm so sorry, they might not know how loud they are. The landlord should tell them to stop. Hope it gets better soon. 🧡 4y
Vbrrgirl Struggling with the same problem! 4y
Trashcanman You‘ll have to be careful, but I‘d use a hairspray and lighter. 4y
suvata Now that‘s just rude. 4y
Megabooks Oh yeah, I think I lived under some bowlers in Durham. #feelyourpain #imsorry 4y
Seekingtardis @Deifio we talked to them and the front office and it stops for a few days then starts again ☹️ but today has been a good day so maybe we are on a quiet time lol 4y
Seekingtardis @sprainedbrain 🥺 agreed! Thank you for your mutual frustration support lol 4y
Seekingtardis @magyklyXdelish I‘m so sorry for your pain!! 4y
Seekingtardis @Mrs_B thank you!! They have been quiet today so I am hopeful that we are in a quiet time lol 4y
Seekingtardis @sharread we called the office and they called them so hopefully it‘ll stay quiet! 4y
Seekingtardis @Vbrrgirl I‘m so sorry love!!! 4y
Seekingtardis @Trashcanman I save that for spiders 😂😂 thank you!! 4y
Seekingtardis @suvata isn‘t it! I‘m just trying not to be rude back and hitting the ceiling with my broom handle 😂 4y
Seekingtardis @Megabooks I worked at a bowling alley in high school I could handle that it‘s the random elephant stampedes that I can‘t handle 😂 thank you love!! 4y

"so politely I could've punched him in the mouth". I'm crying, I'm laughing so hard. I'm not a teacher, but I definitely get that ?? #blessedaretheteachers #iwasalsothathorrid #imsorry

Bailedbailed

I feel so guilty lately for bailing on so many books this year. I think I'm in a reading slump. I've noticed that when a new library hold comes in for the Alex Cross series by James Patterson, I get super excited and then incredibly bummed when I can't read the next book. But anyway, I bailed on Blake's book. #imsorry

SaturnDoo Although I liked this book, it's totally ok to bail on something you aren't enjoying. Reading slumps happen to all of us, I just recovered from one myself. Just keep reading whatever is making you happy. 🤗❤ Maybe the books you are bailing on right now, may peak your interest again when the mood is right. Good luck to you. 6y
Sweettartlaura I have a higher number of DNFs this year already than any before. But I feel less & less guilt about it: the more I read, the better I am at discerning what works for me. Feel no guilt - life‘s too short to read boring books 😉 6y
WorldsOkayestStepMom @Sweettartlaura truth!!! I'm trying to learn to be more gentle on myself and this is a great first step! 6y

WorldsOkayestStepMom @SaturnDoo 💖💖💖 you're so right! I get it in my head that if I didn't like something once I never will again. But I've proven myself wrong on that theory so many times! 😂😂😂 6y
Weaponxgirl @Sweettartlaura same here! I now have a good sense for if it‘s a book I‘m just finding challenging and will get something out of at the end or if it just isn‘t for me or if I‘m in the wrong mood. 6y
Weaponxgirl Never feel guilty for bailing if it isn‘t working it isn‘t working, they can‘t all be winners and the only way we find out is to try them out. 6y

The Grapes of Wrath | John Steinbeck
Panpan

Read this for my book club, and I hated every second. I'm probably one of the few people who found this book tedious and frustrating. My problem was not with the topic, I just felt the way it was written was difficult to follow and almost maniac at times. I couldn't follow who was speaking and the ending! The ending was not an ending! What happened to the family?! #tedious #neveragain #imsorry 😔

Bailedbailed

🎧Unpopular Opinion: I'm over it. I got to about Chapter 16 and gave it up. Maybe I'm just too cynical and skeptical. Or maybe I missed the part about her learning, but the first studying she ever does is for the ACT 🤔The decent brother just takes off to college, and the mean brother keeps getting away with being an ass. The dad is crazy and mom lets it happen. Also, how many serious accidents can one family have? Is she Jame Frey 2.0? #imsorry

Lindy 😆 6y
Mrs.C I bailed too! I don‘t think I got as far in as you did though! Maybe one day I‘ll try and revisit it. 6y
Kaye I choose not to read this. I had a friend I‘d known since middle school who married a NutJob. He was very controlling, no TV, radio or newspapers ..no birth control, so she had 12 kids in about 15 years. He wouldn‘t allow them to attend schools, doctors or hospitals. He was also fanatical about religion. Due to lack of health care, and too many babies, she died before age 45. I cannot read a book that MIGHT lean in that direction. Too sad. 😢 (edited) 6y

Erinreadsthebooks That's a good decision, @Kaye because it does absolutely lean in that direction. I am very sorry about your friend! So incredibly sad 💔💙🙏🏻 6y
Erinreadsthebooks @Tashaxlynn I'm glad I'm not the only one! 6y
Kaye She was always ornery, funny and full of life. It was awful seeing her live like that. Her husband used to make remarks to me about being “ out without my husband “. Good grief , I‘m allowed to go anyplace I want. I don‘t need permission. One night, he was preaching to his kids about Gay people and using derogatory language. I stuck up for them, and said they‘re just like everyone else . He threw me out of the house for that. SAD SAD SAD 😭 6y
Erinreadsthebooks @Kaye That hurts my heart! So sad. And seems to be more prevalent than most people think. 6y
Kaye Probably true. It makes me very angry. I think it also turns me off when I hear of people who live similar lifestyles. Homeschooling, religion jammed down their throats, the man is the boss. My friend‘s husband raised his boys ( oddly enough, 11 were boys , only one girl ) to believe that women are here to serve men and give birth. When she had her babies, he brought all the boys in to watch ( even when they were older teens). Sick. 6y
Eggs @kaye @Erinreadsthebooks Interesting discussion here. The book in question WAS hard to read because this stuff still happens IRL. How could you live with/commit to such insanity and cruelty? How blind can one be? 6y
Kaye @eggs.Sadly, my friend grew up with an abusive dad and in a religious to the extreme household, so she stepped right out of that into a worse mess.i think it was more fear than anything. Her husband told me the man has the right to punish his wife if she‘s not obedient. Those guys tell them they‘ll keep the kids, they can‘t take care of themselves, no other man would want them, etc. I‘m not sure after awhile if she even noticed it. It was her life (edited) 6y
Eggs @kaye Deeply sad 😭 6y
Purrfectpages I‘m having a hard time connecting with this one as well. 6y

Mehso-so

Look, I loved the first book. Mal pissed me off in Shadow and Bone, but I was able to mostly overlook him and enjoy the book. Let me just say for this second book however MAL has bumped this sequel down to 3 stars. It's a struggle to get through guys... Does he get anymore likeable? I almost want to give the damn thing 2 stars, but Nikolai is my only hope right now. #ihatemal #imsorry #grishaverse

Been looking forward for several nights to tonight when I'd have some time to read at work. What do I do? I forget to bring the book I'm reading with me. NOOOOOOOOO!!

originalembot I feel your pain! 😢 8y
Vexingcircumstance I rewatched a bunch of the Doctor Who specials tonight. I always seem to forget how depressing Ten was toward the end. It was a gradual decline from the time he loses Rose (the first time) but after he lost Donna, too he was almost unbearable. He's my favorite doctor but I was kind of happy to see him go at that point. Eleven was a chipper relief. (edited) 8y

Vexingcircumstance The spoiler above is Doctor Who spoilers btw (for David tennants seasons) not book spoilers lol. (edited) 8y
BillBlume @Vexingcircumstance I agree. Was fascinating to watch Ten spiral out of control, though. If felt the companion often indirectly influenced the regeneration, and losing Rose meant he could never be whole again. Curious to see how 12 plays out next season because of that. 8y
Vexingcircumstance I think rose definitely effected Ten. As did his feelings for Rose. Ten was the most emotional of the lot. So my opinion was the Doctors feelings for Rose caused that when he regenerated from Nine to Ten. Then he was so raw and just lost at the end that Eleven was basically a little boy to start with. @BillBlume 8y
Vexingcircumstance I really like Twelve. He is thisclose to edging out Ten as my favorite. The new season shall determine that lol. (edited) 8y
LazyOwl Ten was my first Doctor and will always be my favourite 8y
BillBlume @LazyOwlBookBlog Four was my first, and I didn't think anyone could top him for me until Ten. 8y
EloisaJames This is why I have a Nook app on my phone--never without a book, even if I love reading physical copies! 8y
BillBlume @EloisaJames I do, too. Unfortunately, this was a paperback purchase. 8y
Dragon Can't wait till Christmas and the Doctor Who special 🎄Eleven is my favourite because bow ties are cool 😎 8y
