BookwormjillkYou know what though? Miss Murray is a spoiled brat, but she does seem to care about Agnes. Agnes just can‘t be bothered.2y
RuthiellaYes, absolutely baffling why Agnes would want to go home for her sister‘s wedding when she could stay and admire Miss Murray‘s ball gown. 🙄🙄🙄2y
dabbeAt least Agnes stood up to Miss Murray. I mean. Sorta.2y
mcctrishMiss Murray is making me think of Cher (Clueless) and Emma, not horrible people just never had to think outside of the box( beyond themselves). Agnes is still just dialling in her day job2y
dabbe@mcctrish She talks about wanting to “break free“ and go on a journey. Being a governess in the 1800s was one of the only ways to do that. Yet she doesn't really want to be a governess at all, does she? She wants adventure, and these little/older brats aren't giving her one. Whew! Now I'm #angryatagness2y
mcctrish@dabbe she really doesn‘t seem to like being a governess or children or talking to people2y
Morr_BooksI agree with everything y'all are saying. Agnes does not seem to like being a governess. Her attitude is making me dislike her a bit too, because while I find these kids way too self-important, they aren't nearly as bad as the last group. Maybe Agnes is just more complex than I am giving her credit for right now and hasn't made up her mind quite yet what she wants.2y
AllDebooks@BarkingMadRead I completely missed this. Please add me to the tag list and I will play catch up x2y
TheAromaofBooksI'm rather disappointed because when I read Wildfell Hall I found Helen to be an incredibly compelling heroine. However, Agnes is very... cardboardy. I haven't really connected with her at all.2y
