Actually loved this. Not as light as I thought it would be, which really worked for me. Lots of grief and confusion here.

LoverOfLearning 5 star read for me!! Yeah definitely didn't prepare for it to be that heavy but Ioved it. 3mo
DimeryRene @LoverOfLearning I loved it so much! My bookclub is talking about it soon and I‘m excited to talk about it. 2mo

About halfway done. Pretty good so far!

LoverOfLearning Did you finish it? What did you think?! Not as light of a story as it seems. But I loved it. 3mo

Number 78 for #roll100 and this was great! Not what I expected but really enjoyed this sad coming of age story. Definitely reminiscent of Stephen King‘s works from a teenage POV, with some really poignant moments.

monalyisha I forgot I wanted to read this! So grateful for the reminder. 😊 4mo

Sad book rather than spooky book.
Bittersweet mix of childhood nostalgia (imagination, adventures, making friends, first crush, ghost stories, standing up for yourself), and encountering grown up realities (mental health concerns, life threatening neural injuries/conditions, trauma and danger). 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 PROS: Good pacing, heavy foreshadowing that keeps you interested, and unique choice to discuss it from adult brain surgeon's point of view, connecting memories to medical cases.
CONS: Reveals are too much of a bummer to recommend the read.
Dove character comes a little too close to manic pixie dream girl.

I admit the word search slows reading way down for physical books but it‘s kind of fun too. 📝 #BatBrigade #Scarathlon #Ghost #Moon #AutumPlease #31by31 #BookSpinBingo #Spookoween #Rushathon

Finished this on my first solo road trip with my little superhero.
I found this to be a promising start, a very slow middle, and an unexpected, heart wrenching ending.

The Age of Daredevils | Michael Clarkson

I really enjoyed this non-fiction account of the Hill family of daredevils who each had a close relationship with Niagara Falls. Reading of their exploits along with others who attempted to go over the Falls (some more successfully than others) was fascinating. The author knew the family and area well which added to the book.

Looking for a Halloween read that isn't scary or gory, here it is. A moving, coming of age, family story. Jake, his misfit friends, and oddball uncle start a ghost club the summer of Jake's 12th Bday. They investigate local ghost stories, myths, and legends, and lose a little innocence along the way.

Also, who knew Nick Cutter had an alias? Actually I think NC is the alias, and Craig Davidson is his real name. 🤷‍♀️
