Finally got to check out Book Nerd a new indie bookstore that just opened a few weeks ago. There‘s a silent book club that had a meeting yesterday. I love the concept of getting together and reading your own books with local folks and maybe meet some new people. Will definitely attend another meeting.

Marion and Art go to Niagara Falls for their 30th anniversary. They have behind them 2 kids, 2 affairs, a looming bankruptcy and a possible divorce. They‘re at casino to bet it all. Maybe even on each other. O‘nan is this expert pathologist showing all the wounds on the heart of Marion and Art‘s marriage through inner dialogue and their intimate interactions. I had this constant tug on my heart wishing the best for them. A pick!

Just picked this up today at my local Barnes and Noble. It‘s a coming of age story more about your own ghosts than literal ghosts. I‘m a sucker for these type of books. It‘s a similar vein to McCammon‘s Boys Life.

I no longer cry easily, but this turned out to be a rougher book than expected. Good character development despite its short length. These are characters I would miss greatly if they were people I‘d known.

Finished this book this morning (audio - and well work has been receptive to giving me a good day). I feel confident to be able to say this because I only have an hour and a half left of my shift. #NurseLife

Anyway —- I loved this! It was super cute :) very heartfelt —- just wow.

Number 78 for #roll100 and this was great! Not what I expected but really enjoyed this sad coming of age story. Definitely reminiscent of Stephen King‘s works from a teenage POV, with some really poignant moments.

Sad book rather than spooky book.
Bittersweet mix of childhood nostalgia (imagination, adventures, making friends, first crush, ghost stories, standing up for yourself), and encountering grown up realities (mental health concerns, life threatening neural injuries/conditions, trauma and danger). 1/2
