Finished this book this morning (audio - and well work has been receptive to giving me a good day). I feel confident to be able to say this because I only have an hour and a half left of my shift. #NurseLife
Anyway —- I loved this! It was super cute :) very heartfelt —- just wow.

Sad book rather than spooky book.
Bittersweet mix of childhood nostalgia (imagination, adventures, making friends, first crush, ghost stories, standing up for yourself), and encountering grown up realities (mental health concerns, life threatening neural injuries/conditions, trauma and danger). 1/2
I admit the word search slows reading way down for physical books but it‘s kind of fun too. 📝 #BatBrigade #Scarathlon #Ghost #Moon #AutumPlease #31by31 #BookSpinBingo #Spookoween #Rushathon
Currently reading. Just started it. Hope its good. Looked good. #scarathlon #batbrigade
Looking for a Halloween read that isn't scary or gory, here it is. A moving, coming of age, family story. Jake, his misfit friends, and oddball uncle start a ghost club the summer of Jake's 12th Bday. They investigate local ghost stories, myths, and legends, and lose a little innocence along the way.
Also, who knew Nick Cutter had an alias? Actually I think NC is the alias, and Craig Davidson is his real name. 🤷♀️
A little Novella at the end of the month.
Gonna start with this one. Looks good. Now lets see if it is good.
Got these today at the library and have one on hold. Bout to go to the store then Ill be starting on them. Dont know which one Ill read first. They all look so good. What yall think. Which one should I start with.
Book 138🎧 3⭐️
A few kids get told ghost stories by ones kooky old uncle!
This was not what I was expecting. I really enjoyed this tale of a young boy and his uncle.
This was enjoyable, albeit a bit weird. I wasn‘t sure where it was going most of the book and didn‘t expect the twist at the end. It‘s short, but packs a punch!
Thank you @thewallflower0707 for my lovely
#jolabokaflod package. I'm so excited to read this ☺️
Thanks @MaleficentBookDragon for hosting. I'm delighted I've been able to take part in my first swap!
Blown away by my #hhs swap! Thank you SO much @monalyisha for this thoughtful and generous gift. I‘m already in these amazing slippers 🥰 and LOVE the thought behind the mug!
How lucky am I?!
Happy Halloween!!! 🎃👻
Strong in 80s nostalgia and a definite quirky tale with interesting characters. You know that feeling of being on the outside, not quite fitting in? This book nails that childhood that many of us had. The ending was completely not what I was expecting.
This was great and a truly unique story. It‘s mostly a coming of age story with some ghost stories sprinkled in and some very interesting and well rounded characters.
This was a fun read about a 12 year old boys summer with his friends and his fun but slightly weird Uncle. They have lots of adventures and even discover a long time family secret!

This book became a lot darker than just a story about ghost stories. Jake loves to spend time with his Uncle Cal, who owns The Occultorium. One summer in the 1980s, Uncle Cal creates the Saturday Night Ghost Club, with his friend Lex, Jake, and Jake's friends Billy and Dove. They visit local sites that are supposedly haunted.
I started this book today, and I'm enjoying its quirkiness so far!
Thank you so much @candority for this wonderful #LittleChristmasSwap package! I've been wanting to read this book since it came out, and the treats and tea look so good (my kids think so too, you can see a little grabby hand 😂). The bookmark is so beautiful! Thank you so much for making it for me, it went straight into my current read, such a treasure.
Thanks again, Brooke! And thanks to @bookish_wookish for organizing!
I think I read this book at the perfect time. Part ghost story, part coming of age story, part tragedy, this book had it all. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone looking for a good, but not too scary Halloween read.
1. Candy corn!
2. The Exorcist
3. By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes

1. No real plans. We were invited to a Halloween party but I'm really hoping it gets canceled. I will see my grandson for his first Halloween and my daughter's birthday is Sunday.
2. Isabel Allende, Fredrik Backman
3. Tagged and Something Wicked This Way Comes

Ending was sad and overall book was not as scary I thought it would be. It was a quick and entertaining read and was spooky to me last night during a rainy Saturday night. If I knew that the scary bits were behind me about halfway in, I would have finished last night. Instead I woke up early to finish in time for the end of #deweys24hourreadathon
In total I read 7 hours
Finished tagged book and started another. Still working through my audio
I only got 2 hours and 45 minutes of my audiobook in for #deweys24hourreadathon so far. But I had a great day with the kiddos and even have the perfect snack to enjoy as I start this one 👻
Interesting book Read as part of the #buzzwordathon 5/5
Some excellent prose here, especially around the mutability of memory, and I loved the setting, but this one never really came together for me. Unpopular opinion, I know, but I just never connected with the characters.🤷🏻♀️
But it does directly involve Halloween for +25 points for #TeamHarkness #Scarathlon2020
And +55 each for #Screamathon and #Gothtober (Lies prompt) for 5.5 hrs of reading. All together +136
I'm only about fifty pages in, but really digging this one.
I think this is just the kind of book I need right now. Starting my first book for #screamathon2020 #covercrush
🎃👻🎃
I‘ve got my #bookspinbingo board ready to go. I‘m looking forward to participating this month!

This was good and was about a lot of things that I wasn‘t expecting which increased my enjoyment of the book.
A great coming-of-age story. I would not consider this horror as it is traditionally known so don't let the word "ghost" put you off. A short, fun read that will pull your heart strings in the end. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am a summer girl through and through, and genuinely loathe being cold. Two days of 60 degree weather has me 😢🥶
But I am definitely not upset about my current situation- a yummy beer, my favorite blanket, and a ghost story!
This wasn‘t at all what I was expecting, but I liked it anyways! Never one to pass up a coming of age story set in the 80s, this hauntingly deep and insightful novel gave me the feels. Well written and touching with a nice little twist, this one is short enough to bump to the top of your TBR list!
⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not quite what I was expecting, but a very enjoyable read nonetheless. A coming of age story, set in 1980s Niagara Falls. Jake and his friends Billy and Dove are taken on a ghost tour of the town by Jake‘s Uncle Calvin. As the tour progresses, Jake realises there is something profoundly wrong with Uncle Calvin. Told in a then and now format, with humour and deep sadness.
"Growing up in a city where the erection of a new Kmart occasioned our mayor to announce, “This marks a wondrous new chapter in our town‘s history”—imagination was my greatest asset."
Thoroughly enjoyed this coming of age story that takes place during the 80's in Niagara Falls with a Stand By Me kind of vibe. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
#weeklybookreport - Finished Mexican Gothic for #lmpbc #groupQ This week I plan on finishing up A House in the Sky which I am loving so far for #groupg Started The Saturday Night Ghost Club on the kindle app to read on my phone whenever I find myself beginning to start mindlessly scrolling.😬 #weeklyforecast
I read this between May 24 & June 1 and gave it 4 ⭐️. I really enjoyed this book. It‘s not as spooky as the title or the blurb on the back lead me to believe. I enjoyed the fact that Davidson writes about more personal ghosts and demons. I did feel that the narrator was somewhat inaccessible to the reader. But it was still a good story.
5/5🌟 It has been a while since I read a book that grabbed hold of my emotions quite like this one did. I don't want to spoil the story at all but know Davidson's writing is excellent! He captures the innocence of youth on the cusp of the realities of adulthood, and the importance of family and the things we do for the people we love in such a moving way. Its beautiful, its heartbreaking, its heartwarming, I seriously cant reccomend it enough!
