This book is making me laugh often but all the while I‘ve been thinking “if my mom knows I donated these things she‘s going to have a fit” Low and behold, it‘s a common troubleshooting topic 😂😂😂

I‘m trying to spring clean while I still have some time off work so I figured I‘d get some inspiration.

AmyG Is this “death cleaning”? My friend kept calling it that when I was cleaning out the house and pcking for my move. My parents threw nothing away so I was determined not to do that to my kids. 7y

SkeletonKey @AmyG Noooo, it‘s not. That‘s a method I can‘t do, causes me too much anxiety. This is basically just EXTREME tidying/minimalism based on whether keeping something actually brings you joy or not. My parents are the same way and though I don‘t have kids, the burden is still ridiculous. 7y

Soubhiville There are TONS of black widows there! I saw them in Knoxville almost daily in my garden. Luckily you pretty much have to grab them for them to sting, they're pretty docile. 8y

JenP @britt_brooke my daughter likes bugs and she held a tarantula at he insect place in Denver. She asked me to hold it too and I had to pretend I wasn't terrified because I didn't want her thinking they were scary but I sat there shaking. 8y

britt_brooke @JenP 😱 You're good, I wouldn't have been able to do it. Speaking of CO, the one and only time I've seen a black widow in nature was when we lived in the Springs. She was living inside the ATM at the bank where I worked. 8y

Amandajoy We have them in NM. I once found one in my bed while stripping the sheets off to wash them. Yes, I did go screaming down the hallway. 8y

Desha We have them in San Diego as well but maybe not as many? I used to live in an area of SD where we constantly were worried about finding them in the yard/garage/etc. 😳😧😱😨😰 8y

Just finished this one with my book club a few hours ago. Needed some time to assemble my thoughts, because woah. One of the most thought-provoking, and yet still so utterly enjoyable, reads of the year so far for me. Adichie has crafted such a magnificent blend of truths (some more uncomfortable than others) and fine storytelling. I will miss Ifemelu and Obinze, after coming to know them so well. Highly recommend this one! #readit #noreally
