Ruthiella We saw earlier with Mrs. Moore that the caves are disorienting. With all Adela‘s worry about Ronnie and her engagement, who knows what she “thinks” happened vs what really happened…🤔 7mo

dabbe Just like the song from Urban Cowboy: Adela was “Looking for love in all the wrong places.“ She and Aziz were talking about marriage right before Aziz went into a cave. Then she's thinking all about Ronny and how she doesn't love him and goes into a cave. Throughout the whole book, she's always 👀 for something better. Heat (it was hot) can bring about hallucinations, too. And there's the guide with his head to the side until he runs away. 🤔 (edited) 7mo

CatLass007 As a proudly woke woman, I have the urge to reach through the book and slap everyone until they come to their senses. Sadly, they are products of their time. But I‘ve read other books by Forster and enjoyed them immensely. His prose is lovely, for one thing. And he renders each character so well. 7mo
