76 books later, I finished both my reading challenges tonight! This was my third year completing the @popsugar one and my first with @bookriot #readharder. They definitely push me out of my comfort zone; I've read some fabulous books and found some new favorites. But I'm grateful to be able to read what I want for the rest of the year! pickchick addiction memoirs are, well, pretty chic these days but i haven't read one this good since elizabeth wurtzel was still relevant. this book probably won't change your life (or cat's) but it's not fluff - it's funny (even when it shouldn't be), self-aware, & contains some of the genius-flashes that always made her so compelling to begin with. #popsugarreadingchallenge2017 (published 2017)
pickanyone who knows me even slightly knows that if i had had the opportunity to write this book then each chapter probably would have been the length of this short book. HOWEVER. it is very extremely rare that i read anything about mother love that not only does not make me hate the author, but has me nodding along as i go. for hole fans only? or at least the courtney-curious? probably. but for those of us who occupy that space? treasure.
