Pickpick

Lately I've been interested in academic mysteries. This one goes all the way back to the 13th century at Oxford. In the absence of modern forensic techniques, Master William Falconer relies on deduction to solve crimes, This one also satisfies #readharderchallenge for a mystery where the victim is not a woman.

Mehso-so

So many mixed feelings. 😕. The writing was amazingly gorgeous and Morrison‘s narration was beautiful as well. The story and it‘s themes are so important and powerful. Certain portions really drew me in, but I just had so much trouble following the story with the back and forth in time and changing narration and to be honest, I still don‘t entirely understand the ending. Maybe I‘m just not smart enough for it. It counts for 4 challenges though! ⬇️

sprainedbrain This was a so-so for me for some of the same reasons. 😕 3w
Scochrane26 Don‘t worry, I read this years ago & didn‘t really understand it. I haven‘t re-visited it. 3w
CogsOfEncouragement I read this somewhat recently. My husband read it at the same time, and I would recommend reading it with someone to discuss it with. I know I would have been lost if I was reading it for the first time with an audio book. 3w
essayareayaitch Read this on high school, still can't get over the incest, and a few other things 3w

Wonderful! So glad I read this for the #readharderchallenge #18 and the #readingwomenchallenge #4. Thoughtful, empowering, inclusive; this book is one every kiddo (and parent) would enjoy! The illustrations really add to the story, highly recommend!
