I happened to be thrift store shopping with my folks, and found Book of Aliens 👽🎉 The two Monsters books were in, but already owned. Ghost and Magic are in need to watch for. 🤓 That's half at 6 / 12 on my quest to find all the Bruce Coville collections.

1) Paranormal, supernatural, real scary stories...literally anything. The only genre where I will read and thoroughly enjoy nonfiction.
2) the Scream franchise. It‘s funny, gory, and scary all at the same time. Also Halloween 2018 bc it was just. so. good.
3) even tho it‘s for kids and not *really* scary, some of the stories in it have made me anxious about real life stuff even as an adult.

i-am-papercrane 4) I watched a the first season of Slasher (really good, but only the first season) and I keep meaning to watch Scream. American Horror Story is also up there.
5) Either or, but I prefer gore.
6) What is a horror movie/book you watched/read as a child that still sticks with you?
(edited) 3w
veritysalter Stephen King‘s ‘Children of the Corn‘, I was far too young, still get to the same point and can‘t watch beyond that now, thirty years later. 3w
teebe Good question! I avidly watched horror movies as a kid so there‘s a lot that have stayed with me for different reasons. The Exorcist is one of them. 3w

MidnightBookGirl The scene from Poltergeist where the one dude starts tearing the skin off his face. 3w
BookwormAHN I don't remember the name of the movie but the ending was a demon coming up from the floor and pulling someone down into hell with them. 3w
ulrichyumiodd I was very easily scared as a child and stayed far away from any horror, haha. I only read tame horror books written for kids - perhaps like Goosebumps? The actual series was in French, and I totally forgot the name 😓 Nothing very scary, anyway! 3w
j9brown The scene from The Fly where he arm wrestles some guy at a bar and breaks his wrist - I'm still uncomfortable with arm wrestling! 3w
Twainy #6 - Book, The Shining. Movie, The Exorcist. 3w

This P book is a companion to the New York Times Best Seller that was written by Mary Ann Hoberman and illustrated by Michael Emberly has a great anthology of different short poems students can easily read. It would be perfect for a PR, the book has lines that are color-coded so students can choose among themselves what color they want to read and have a conversation through a poem.

sbombasi This specific version is perfect for the month of October and the theme of Halloween. The educator‘s guide has curriculum connections to reading aloud, phonetics, and rhyming. Some of these activities includes creating a work wall/rhyming dictionary and word match.

DrSpalding Your universal design principles are perfect for this book which is meant to be read by partners. I had this copy and gave it away! I would add each of these books to your classroom library. 1w
