The Killers of the Flower Moon | David Grann

Very excited to start this tonight for my weekend #minibuddyread with the ever-awesome @Cinfhen 😘❤️We are being #superchill-so if you want to join in, read along & post your thoughts--please join us. I got a couple of chapters in over dinner (Nigel Slater's Winter Salad of Pears & Blue Cheese with a piece of simply-cooked salmon). Had to pop up a blog post with the salad recipe, but hoping to get in another few chapters tonight--so interesting!🤓

Cinfhen Is it bad if I‘m more interested in your dinner than our book!?! Kidding 😬book is good, but I‘m a little overwhelmed by all the names, dates, people & places being mentioned in the first 4 chapters 🙄I am loving the photos ❤️ 7y

DebinHawaii @Cinfhen Hah! Well it was a darn good dinner! 😆😋👍 The pictures are interesting & I'm glad now that the audiobook didn't come in first with all the names & details so far. I hope they all start to make sense & become less overwhelming as we get into it. 7y

Cinfhen I was thinking about our vast time difference @DebinHawaii so funny, but it‘ll work well for our posting...I read about 4 chapters, informative and fascinating. Loving all the photos. I‘m always shocked by our messy US history and how as a student we weren‘t really taught much about our darker days. Sad 😞 7y

#LOTRchapteraday Chap 9: Of the Flight of the Noldor🤔Long chapter with many bad things/decisions happening & Melkor/Morgoth & Ungoliant🕷in the thick of it. As beautiful as the writing is, I get easily distracted & lost & find myself looking for summaries online to check & see if I truly understood what I read. Yep, it may be too deep for Max & me! 😐 🐱Max says this chapter was too long & only a little talk of 🐟 + more 🕷= 🙀😾#catsoflitsy😽❤️

Sace Max! I haven't read any Tolkien except for The Hobbit. I tried LOTR, but it was not for me (for the reasons you list about this book.) 7y
