Never watched the tv series. Is it any good? Or is the actor playing the Witcher just smokin‘ hot?

Comic was serviceable. Not the best antihero comic I‘ve ever read but if you like the show you‘ll surely like this too.

I shoulda been paying attention to who the publisher & artist is. Reminded me much of Mike Mignola Hellboy books.

Soscha Aah, Dark Horse, that explains the aesthetic they‘re going for. Didn‘t recognize writer or artist, in which case Dark Horse wasn‘t heavily pushing the series, if it is a series. AND I guess this isn‘t so much from a tv show but a play-me gamer series? 1w
Serotonin I watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix. It was good. Season 3 was sooo boring I gave up. Not going near season 4 😆 1w
Jari-chan I couldn't even finish season one 🙈 7d
Kenyazero I might have to pick this comic up! I loved the one game I played, hated the books (they‘re a bit sexist), and enjoyed the Netflix series. To answer your question, it IS a fun series on its own, but it probably helps that people think the actor is hot. I‘m on the asexual spectrum, so that wasn‘t a major draw for me 🤭 6d

Really good, a shockingly quick read considering the length. Sapkowski (much like George up there) did not need to add so many POVs to get the story across, but when it was good it was great.
This mixed in a famous Arthurian legend, & I would be lying if I said I didn‘t have to do a little homework to make my own sense out of that ending as it is left to some interpretation.
Fitting conclusion to the saga

A lot of monsters get bloodily dispatched in a variety of ways, & there's slightly more of Geralt having baths than I personally thought was necessary (but others might have a greater penchant for those scenes than me 🛀).
While some of the monsters have tragic backstories, at the point Geralt meets them they are generally in his “deserve to die“ category, except in the Fox Children storyline, which is more nuanced.
There is some soul-searching ⬇️

Bookwomble ... about not addressing inter-human oppression, but as the conclusion of that side-arc is “it's not the business of a Witcher to intervene in human injustice“ and as this is illustrated by Geralt riding past a gang-rape, I didn't think it did him or the writer much credit. Otherwise, I thought they were well-presented stories which I enjoyed more than my review might indicate. (edited) 5mo

Everyone is really going through it in this 1, but Ciri in particular is back in focus &proving herself as she searches for the Tower.
Still irregular pacing, cliffhanger, multiple POVs & things told from different times, which is not the most cohesive. But was very entertaining.

currentlyreadinginCO I love these! 6mo
