4 ⭐ Eddy is the daughter of Charles Darwin. Her full name is Henrietta, but she prefers to go by Eddy. This book is about how she walks along the sand walk that her father walks, just to think. No one knows exactly what questions, Eddy and her father posed on these rocks, the author poses the question “are fairies real?”. The reader sees how Charles teaches his daughter to have an open mind and the way his daughter teaches her father that not

LibrarianRyan everything is as it seems. Overall, this was a lovely book and unlike many nonfiction books, would be very easy to read at story time. 3d

Another 'based on real people and events' picture book with a little girl as the lead, by Lauren Soloy. I'm loving the theme, and her art!

July 20, 2023 So happy to be alive and have the privilege to BUY books, whether they are paperback or hardback. I have more books that I want to buy but some of them are not in paperback. Other tbr that I have listed include: Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult, Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano, and Womb by Leah Hazard

Desha I just got Happy Place too! I‘m about a third of the way in already and I‘m enjoying it 2mo
lilpumpkin2.0 Does it start out slow or is it a good pace? @Desha 2mo
Desha To me it was a good pace throughout…it kept me wanting to read. I just did my review of it on my feed…finished it yesterday! 📚 2mo

These Dr. Seuss books are cute, but trying to keep the tongue-twisting flow while in a head-cold brain fog is TOUGH 😅 our whole house has it pretty bad this week 🤒🤧

Listened to this on audio. Thought it was pretty interesting overall. Thought it would be more of a thing about how to make decisions faster but really it explained why/how we‘re able to make split second decisions/judgments with seemingly limited info. Still learned a lot and was definitely intriguing

Although I score high on the Visual Thinking test, I don‘t see myself that way. That‘s about all that interested me in this book. Her adoration for Evil Musk & Edison 🤢. She knows squat-all about public education, cherry picking research. Contradicting herself at multiple points… I wanted to love this b/c a friend does, but I did not. I will say her drafting is gorgeous, & the animal welfare parts make for good reading.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a book! This is such a helpful collection of fallacies we face on a daily basis. The author does a great job of providing brief descriptions and examples of each fallacy making learning them a cinch. Highly recommend if you want to understand improved thinking.

Tom Chatfield is an author, tech philosopher and educator with a focus on critical thinking skills. This really useful book is aimed at students but has a lot for ‘ordinary‘ people who want to work on their critical thinking skills, including sorting through and questioning information, understanding biases and how to make a strong argument. It‘s clearly written, easy to follow and has useful summaries at the end of each chapter.
