AnnR @Bookwormjilik @BarkingMadRun I think reading this at a slower pace really lets the darkness within each chapter seep in more. Even the movie/BBC adaptations didn't seem this dark in comparison but maybe I just don't remember. 3y

AllDebooks @Ann_Reads that's a great point. It is so much more abusive and sinister than I remember. Freaked out as a teen reading the red room chapter, stayed with me for years. I can see why now!!! Poor Jane 3y
