Hey Littens! I haven't been very active on here lately because I've been busy going out/exploring/socializing/ getting out of my bubble. Happy to say I've also been busy reading! Lots of posts to catch up on, starting with the tagged book. Picture of me from my most recent trip to Lake Tahoe.
"To love ourselves and support each other in the process of becoming real is perhaps the greatest single act of daring greatly." - Brené Brown

I‘m always up for a Brene Brown audio! This one is from a few years ago, but nonetheless filled with great lessons born from her research on shame and vulnerability. She just makes so much sense. But I also feel like I‘ll need to revisit this and her other books to help them really sink in. #scarathlon #spookyghostclub #hardlyanywordsearchpoints

This morning‘s early wake-up 🎧📖audiobook choice. I‘ve come to really enjoy the quiet mornings with an audiobook.

TheSpineView Love the quiet mornings! Enjoy! 1y
Andrew65 A good way to start the day. 1y

A reread/relisten of this one & I finished it last night for my Leadership Foundation 101 cohort discussion at work tomorrow. I love Brene‘ Brown—she makes me think & laugh even when she is making me uncomfortable when the truth hits a little too close to home. Not everyone in my class likes this one, but we are all at various stages in our journey & sometimes it‘s not the right book at the right time for us & that‘s okay.👌🏼

Another audio & #bookspin book (June). I‘m late to the Brene Brown craze. I‘ve never listened to her TED talk. I enjoyed this one & I enjoyed listening to her discuss her work & research. Shame & resiliency, like most social science research topics, are hard to quantify but so important to understand. It definitely gave me some things to think about & some different perspectives to view/understand others.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! 1y

Thank you for the #WondrousWednesday tag @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick 🤗

1️⃣ The tagged book or really anything from Brene Brown
2️⃣ Depends on the friend but The Graveyard Book by Neil Gamin is a favorite or anything by Ruth Reichl for foodies
3️⃣ I would love to meet Neil Gaiman, Brene Brown and/or Ruth Reichl 💙

Anyone else want to join in? Consider yourself tagged.

RamsFan1963 I almost picked The Atlas of the Heart by Brown as my answer for #1, but I'm not sure it would have had the same impact on 13 year old me as it did on 59 year old me. 2y
DebinHawaii @RamsFan1963 I just started the audiobook of The Atlas of the Heart. I just love her books. 2y

Great ideas in this book, and I liked that Brown showcased where she herself finds it difficult to practise the ideas. The appendix on the grounded theory that supported her research was interesting as well. It‘s the sort of book that would do well to have on hand and flip through when you need a boost.

This is 1 of those books I want to get a copy for everyone I know. Just finished the audio this morning & now want a hard copy for myself, my sister, mom, aunts, friends & coworkers. This book impacted me-crying on my audiodrive home from work. Now to check out her website for the downloads & maybe ordering 10 copies for Xmas gifts. Working on my courage, vulnerability & overcoming anxiety. It‘s been a hard year for me & this was a necessary read.
