ncsufoxes They have things like this designed for kids with sensory processing. My son that had SPD loves things like this because they squeeze him & give him feedback 2y

ncsufoxes My son has a diagnosis of Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). It‘s one of his many diagnoses. He is also Autistic & kids with Autism can have SPD. So he was diagnosed by an OT & they examine several sensory areas: sound, smell, taste, touch, vestibular, & proprioceptive (I think that‘s all of them). Different kids can have varying levels of sensitivity to the differing areas that basically impedes their life. My son is highly sensitive to sound, 2y
ncsufoxes Taste (he has difficulty with different textures & have done feeding therapy to try & help, he‘s very limited in what he eats). He also has a hard time with touch, like he doesn‘t like people touching him or doesn‘t like touching different textures. He also have a difficulty with different types of clothes (like we have to cut all the tags out of clothes). When he is feeling dysregulated he likes to be squeezed (he‘s looking for proprioceptive 2y
ncsufoxes Feedback to bring his senses back to a calm). So he likes tight spaces at that time or for us to squeeze him. There is something like the image that OT companies sell that are shaped kind of like a big banana that kids can smoosh themselves to help with that feeling. I hope that answers your question. RedxoHearts I saw that the other day it looks so cozy! I would have absolutely loved it as a kid to snuggle up and read. As an adult though I'd definitely need help getting out 🤣 2y
