Le sigh...this was such a wonderful, real, magical, relatable story. I love how Allen writes. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but she definitely speaks to me!

In other news, I just cleaned up my Litsy feed. I haven't been coming here much, because my feed didn't interest me. So I'm trying to do a reboot. Less advertisements, more real people reading real books :)

Sarah Addison Allen is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Just reading the first few lines of this one lowered my blood pressure. She has a hint of poetry in her writing, and the characters feel like old friends.

Hellooooo Litsy! Long time, no see!

I'm working my way through this gem. I picked it up at a conference I attended last summer after hearing the author speak. It's fantastic so far!

First completed read of the new year. It felt like three books in one, but so worth it. I so love Jamie and Claire. I wasn't going to pick up the third book right away, but how can I not with the cliffhanger this one just ended on??

This series is going to kill my reading goal for the year, but it's so good! #IlikebigbooksandIcannotlie

Bostonmomx2 That's why I wish Goodreads had a page goal in addition to a book goal. 7y

Picked this one up randomly on Kindle Unlimited. Opens with Aimee at the church on her wedding day. Only instead of her fiancé standing at the altar, he's in a coffin. Now she's reeling from his sudden death and other losses in her life, unsure of where to go now. And some things aren't adding up for her. I'm definitely going to keep reading!

Oh. My. Goodness. I cannot love this book more! I had a hard time getting into it, but I LOVED it! I mean, laughing out loud and then later tears streaming down my face! Absolutely fantastic. Now I want to go hug my grandfather, who reminds me far too much of A Man Called Ove.

Suzze I started this but books that have "due dates" (e-arcs and library books) keep pushing it off. I want to get back to it so bad! 8y
Lwsmith Stopped the audible version so I can suggest for my book club next month. So hard! LOVED that grumpy old man! 7y

What do you do while going through a bit of a book slump? You pick out a good mystery audiobook to listen to! I've recently "discovered" Scottoline's works, and am working my way through them. I like the mix of character-driven fiction and a decent mystery to try to solve along with the main character.

Im not sure how to rate this one. It was beautifully written. Poetic, but in a simplistic way, not over the top. Haunting. Yet let me wanting, and I don't know if in a good, literary way, or as if the author should have said more. I felt it was missing a little in character development, but that's my focus of most novels. Overall a pic, simply because of how drawn I was to at least the last half of the book.

I was listening to this one as an audiobook in the car, but I was too impatient and grabbed a paper copy to finish! I've never read anything by Scottoline before, but this one grabbed my attention! I'd like to read more from her if they are all this good!

Jennifer_BookishDevices I've enjoyed most of her work. Her latest, Most Wanted not so much. 8y

Good book! Two stories in one - a look back to the 1960's and then the early 2000's, where both stories eventually intersect.

Book 3 of #24in48 #readathon!

I've just started reading books by this author. This is an older one that was re-released as an ebook. It was ok, a light, fairly predictable read, but still pretty good.

2nd book finished in the #24in48 #readathon with @24in48

Eh. I was going to give this one a thumbs-down. I nearly bailed on it. The last ten pages were redemptive, but man, this was one of the most unlikable main characters I've read in a long time. And there wasn't much depth at all to any of the characters, main or secondary. It wasn't the worst book. But it was definitely "meh."

I found this one while searching for books involving time travel (my guilty pleasure). This one has a different twist from a typical time travel story. I really enjoyed it! I wish the ending had told us more about what the future held for the characters - who knows, maybe we can hope for a sequel?

This is such a fun book! Completely modern, but completely faithful retelling of my beloved Pride and Prejudice. "Chip" Bingley a doctor turned reality tv star, five sisters brought back to the family home due to Mr. Bennet's health, Lydia and Kitty as CrossFit-Paleo enthusiasts? Yes, please!
