To be the last book of the Shadow House series, I think wasn't the best choice. The last book should've been "No Way Out" (Book 3) because it concluded the storyline well. This book I found was a bit unnecessary; following two completely new characters. It wasn't as scary as the previous three books. It was missing the creepy photos as well. There was about 3 photos throughout the book compared to the others. #Horror #Fiction #Goodreads #YA

The book was well executed and just as scary as the other two previous books. The creepy, dark photos that are throughout the book will send chills down your spine and so will the words. It's perfect to read at nighttime especially if you really want to get that scary effect. The book did end quite well, without a cliffhanger so I'm unsure of what the fourth book will cover. #Horror #Fiction #Series

This book has a twisty plot that thickens with each turn of the page. It‘s addicting to the point where you can‘t stop reading. The characters were interesting and distinct. Pammie, Adam‘s mother, made me so angry throughout the most of the book because she was so sneaky and deceitful. She was making Emily‘s life a living hell but I couldn‘t stop reading it because she went to a next level of crazy on each page! Mothers will do anything. #Thriller

The storyline was slow, I mean extremely slow to the point where I was just skimming over the words for something interesting to capture my attention. The characters weren‘t likable and I couldn‘t connect to them at all. The only thing that saved this book a little was the plot twist. After the plot twist, it went back to being dull. The mental illness representation...bothered me greatly. But the romance scenes were good, I guess. #goodreads

Being one of my most anticipated reads of the year, I'm sorry to say that this book has filled my heart with nothing but disappointment. There was a lack of distinct with characters even thought there were 4 separate POVs. The story itself wasn't very entertaining. The last thing that really disturbed me was the mental illness representation. It angers me that mental illness is being used so loosely, especially in movies/shows/books.

This was my first Agatha Christie novel and it definitely did not disappoint. It is worth the read. It is mind-boggling enough that I was beginning to think that I killed Ratchett myself. I had my own theories about the solution to the murder but they were wrong as I reached the ending. I learned a great deal of French as well being that some phrases were in that language. This was fantastic and I do plan on reading more of her work.

Definitely an interesting read. I wish I would've picked it up sooner way back in high school. I felt like I could relate to it a lot and it was explained very well about extroversion and introversion. Even if you consider yourself an extrovert, you will enjoy this book. Introverts unite! ❤️

Honestly, I loved this book. Creepy children, satanic dolls and needles in eyeballs...this is one good horror book! It was fast-paced and engulfed me right into the action. The characters were interesting and the story behind the Frozen Charlotte Dolls were amazing. I will be reading the prequel to this book as well! I want to know more about the dolls. #FrozenCharlotte #Alexbell #Youngadult #Library #Bibliophile #Readers

It was interesting for the most part. People were dying and they had to figure out which one of them was the killer before more people died. However, these two characters found the motive to kiss and confess feelings when there were multiple dead bodies around them. Disgusting. Then, the killer was revealed and they explained the reasons for the killings. After that, it was cliché and I didn't like the ending. #Ten #GretchenMcNeil #Library #Reader

This book was captivating, funny and great. Jacob had me laughing to tears. The remarks he made throughout the book made it enjoyable. The pictures added great detail to my imagination. There were a great amount of surprises towards the end of the book. As a whole, this was a page-turner. It was definitely a unique read that helped me get out of my reading slump. The cover is amazing and all but for some reason, I wasn't feeling this book at all. The pacing was extremely slow, nothing was happening that grabbed my attention to keep reading. I would just read it like Eh. I didn't feel connected to the characters. I just wasn't feeling it as a whole but I read the entire book. I guess the blurb at the front lead to me having high expectations. Damnit.

Characters were not likable. For the first couple of pages in the book, I thought it was telling from the point of view of a sixteen-year old because of the dialog. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. I couldn't believe that a 22-year old would say, "I mean, there was penetration but not with his, you know..." Then her friend says, "Not with his noodle." What are we? Twelve? Her personality made it seem like she was a teen. Eh.

Tragic. I admit that the cover attracted me first. "Come out, come out...you won't get far." It's mind-boggling. It was creepy and I would get freaked out just by reading it. The story is told from multiple points of view but mainly focuses on Robin Brissett. The big reveal about the killer was disappointing because I knew who it was from the beginning.

It nearly took me two weeks to finish this, but I'm finally done. There was so many things wrong with this book. It could've been cut by 200 or 300 pages because things were not progressing for more than half the book! Part 2 was just unnecessary as a whole. I was just bored. Plus, the sex scenes were just plain disturbing and occurring too frequently. Having sex in a tent in the middle of a war? Seriously? I couldn't stand it.

I really enjoyed this. My emotions were all over the place by laughing at Chris trying to make jokes, getting angry at Hailey for being the way she is and almost crying at all the problems Starr had to experience. This book touches on Black Lives Matter, interracial relationships, racism and differences between Black and White neighborhoods. Loved it.

The plot was filled with twists and turns from beginning to end. I was eager to find out if all the children will escape the Shadow House alive or let their fears overcome them. The pictures inside this book are amazingly creepy and sometimes scary, but worth it. That's what kept me reading. It was a great sequel and I cannot wait for book three to come out soon!

This book is not the next Gone Girl. This book is much more psychological and unsettling Gone Girl. The mystery began right at the beginning of page one. There was no wasting time and I was hooked. Within a couple pages, I was extremely unsettled, had chills running down my spine and goosebumps appearing on my arms. I could not put the book down because I was eager to know what happened next!

I was so drawn to this book because of the concept of having a disease that makes her allergic to the world. She was sick and yet still wanted to explore the world. When she met Olly, I couldn't help but enjoy her increase in happiness. The only thing that concerned me was the pacing of the events after meeting Olly. It seemed so rushed honestly. However, the illustrations in the book were amazing!

This book was good. It's starts off a bit slow, things don't start picking up until day 4 or 5. I couldn't bring myself to hate the girls because I felt bad for them. Especially Sam. The author showed us her hesitation before doing something mean. It showed that she had some doubts and some feelings. I wish it ended differently though. Readers can see how Sam goes through change & how she realize her own mistakes. I loved that theme.

I really liked this book. It ended on a good note and tied everything together nicely. I loved how Amy evolved since the first book. She became this strong, confident, powerful and caring person. In this book, Dorothy was stripped of her evil and we actually got to know her character from the alternating POV. It was great to hear both sides of the story. At the end was very emotional, I was tearing up.

Tormented was a great, compelling sequel to the first book - Evolution. Jade and Aiden are still that romantic power couple that I loved. At first, I was hesistant about giving this book five stars because some parts were dragged out. Nevertheless, it was worth it all at the end of the book. There were heart-racing moments where I was wondering what's going to happen next. The ending left me absolutely breathless.

The characters were remarkable. It was great to see how much Gretchen has evolved and moved forward in her life with the help of Phoenix. Ninety seconds can really change a life in a good way. This book touched on the subjects about immigration, gang violence and the Hispanic culture. With a little hint of romance here and here, it made the story very realistic. I absolutely love this book and I'm glad I decided to read the whole thing.

The blurb on the back of the book is way more intriguing than the book itself. 90% of the book was tailored to the character, Che, which is Rosa's brother. The story is just following Che in his love life, boxing and daily life. I am not interested in boxing, but the story went so much into details about it. I would fall asleep because I would rarely see anything about Rosa being creepy. Absolutely nothing psychopathic happened until Chapter 35.

The storyline was cliché. A girl goes through something tragic at her school and then changes her school to 'start over'. She's basically damaged goods but then meets this guy that makes her happy. It was predictable. However, if you are ever between books and just want a short story to read, this would be perfect.

Sadly, I could not finish this book. I really tried. I even took a break and relaxed to start over again. I just couldn't. The plot is totally ridiculous. You have this girl who gets raped/beaten and she is damaged. The main character refuses to leave her side, even though they are complete strangers. I did not finish, the love was forced and the storyline was not progressing. Sorry, bailed.

I found it a little confusing to read because of the alternating characters AND past-present. After a while, I got used to it. One thing that did bother me was the characters. They were NOT likeable at all. The book ended up making me angry instead of pleased because of that reason. Overall it still was a nice book to read. It reminded me of Gone Girl, but not as psychological and twisted.
