⭐️⭐️If you want background noise to pass the time or road trip audio, this is fine. But if you‘re expecting a good read, this is not it. Some parts were ok but the entire wrap up was weird and predictable.

Soft pick, slow in the middle but I did want to see how it turned out
Rosie & husband inherit an enviable NYC apartment with a dark history. It had all the trappings of a solid domestic thriller, but it also had supernatural elements. That‘s where it kind of lost me. Visions, ghosts, mediums, a doorman who is always on duty…
The echos of the past was a nice touch. I got towards the end & thought there were plot holes & suddenly it all collided.
I went back and forth on my opinion if this book. There were times I was quite enjoying it, and then other times that felt just meh to me. Overall I guess I'd give 3.5 stars because it was a decent story. I didn't care for the narration on this #audiobook though. I found some of the accents and voices to be irritating/annoying. It's possible I'd have ranked the book higher had I read it in print instead.
3.5 ⭐
I couldn‘t put this book down! A spooky thriller with supernatural elements.
Rosie and Chad inherit an apartment in a building that has a lot of tragic deaths associated with it. Rosie is writing a book about it. There are elderly neighbors who are into the occult, Rosie trying to get pregnant, Chad gets his big break - lots of “Rosemary Baby“ vibes (as the author intended) with a haunted house element. Creepy and fast paced. ⬇️ (for why a so/so)

Make a great day everyone🍂
I felt claustrophobic reading this, which I think is a compliment as it was very atmospheric. I didn't connect with Rosie, the MC, at all which is usually a point on the con list for me but there was so much going on- and so many weird people- that I didn't miss it in this case.

A creepy, gothic thriller with many twists and turns! A solid book that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
My current reading view! #catsoflitsy
Creepy apartment building, creepy neighbors, creepy doorman and all kinds of strange things happening after Chad and Rosie move into their newly inherited New York City apartment. Lots of bad things happen after their arrival and it‘s up to Rosie to figure out why there are so many deaths surrounding them! Good supernatural story that‘s not over the top 😊
Camping and attending our daughter‘s wedding this weekend 💒👰💍
I am not a horror fan, but do enjoy a bit of supernatural and this book suited my tastes. I enjoyed the story and felt in some ways the creepy but elegant old apartment was the star of the book, as the atmosphere Unger created was so well done. I almost wished the book was illustrated and had floor plans. By the midway point I had trouble putting the book down, staying up way to late to finish it. Thank you Edelweiss+ for the digital ARC. 4/5!
I loved so much of this book. The haunted apartment building. The homage to Rosemary's Baby. I wish it was a little more supernatural to make it perfect. However, then it wouldn't be an Unger book. I think is my favorite of her novels so far. 4.5 stars.

I loved this!!! It was so eerie and creepy. It held my attention and kept a very good pacing the whole time. I never felt that there was a really dull moment. But, I really wish it would have just leaned into the paranormal a little more. I was thinking of how things would end, and then it didn't end that way, and it was a little disappointing. 4.5/5
Hmmm, I started out liking this but began to lose interest as the murderery parts were told vs shown to the reader. Just when I thought this was a meh read things got twisty and the reader finally experiences crimes play out on Park Ave‘s Windermere Apartment. Note to Self: when I finally have the opportunity to move to NYC, find a loft in Brooklyn!
What I‘ve learned from these sorts of stories is this: DO NOT move into a luxury New York apartment, especially if you think of it as life-changing or a new start to your life! Don‘t try to start a new family in this apartment, don‘t get super cozy with those strange or overly nice neighbors…nothing good will come from it! This was twisty and dark and I loved the touch of supernatural. Kept me entertained and I listened to it in 2 days! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Read this one immediately after it came out but it missed the mark a little imo. Rosie and Chad are happily married artists. Chad is a soon to be famous actor and Rosie is a writer. After Chad's Uncle Ivan passes away, the couple inherit Uncle Ivan's beautiful apartment in the Windermere a luxurious, old NY uptown building. It's a dream come true for the couple, until Rosie starts noticing strange things happening. Fell short & was just okay. ⭐⭐⭐✨
“Rosie and Chad Lowan are barely making ends meet in New York City when they receive life-changing news: Chad‘s late uncle has left them his luxury apartment at the historic Windermere in glamorous Murray Hill. With its prewar elegance and impeccably uniformed doorman, the building is the epitome of old New York charm. One would almost never suspect the dark history lurking behind its perfectly maintained facade.”
Love her books and this one has it all: creepy basement, empty elevator shaft, tarot cards, con artists, and voices of the past. These all collide in a story reminiscent of Rosemary‘s Baby! Kept me up into the wee hours!
