Beauregard had me at hello! He‘s calculated, observant and unafraid. My tea of choice this morning is an absolute fave, so much so that I have it year round and not just in the winter.

Chelsea.Poole Winter spice sounds great! Also loved Beauregard 😊 7d
Bookpearl It is! I love it and use to only drink it during winter but not anymore. Beauregard is something else and I love it. 7d

I stayed up reading past my bedtime last night and babyyyy!! I‘m up early letting these thoughts marinate and will definitely have to sit in prayer this morning. I already know this book is going to sit with my soul… P.S. Can someone tell BN to stop putting stickers on the covers. 😩#the1619project #ireadpastmybedtime

The only thing saving this read is the honey peach tea. This was my first read by Stuart Turton and I‘m a little perplexed as to why this book had such great reviews.

Rachiiebookdragon I‘m perplexed too, it‘s not an easy read and the audiobook didn‘t help 😴 7mo

The Other Woman | Eric Jerome Dickey
post image

The passing of Eric Jerome Dickey still has me shook and I‘m about to revisit a few of his older titles.
The Other Woman will have you on the edge of your seat and ready to jump off the rollercoaster. As for Freckles, she will forever be etched in my soul. I still feel her emotions as I talk about the infidelity and after many years I still say, I would have shot him.

It‘s been a while since I‘ve stayed up and listened to a book that had me at hello! I‘ve been with these folks since day one and don‘t want the saga to end. I‘m slowly making my way through it due to Book 3 not being released until December, that‘s so not fair! 😩

BeaG I haven‘t read Butterfly yet. I have read Moth to a Flame by here and most of the Ethic series by her. I‘m going to check this one out. 1y

Reggie You going back to school soon? Or you guys on hold. Or doing remote. I remember you had a school bookclub. 1y
Bookpearl @Reggie Teachers return tomorrow and the students return on the 17th. We‘re doing a mix of hybrid and remote. The kids will be in the building four days a week and broken up in groups of 2 (A and B days) with Wednesday being strictly remote. Praying we‘ll be able to have clubs this year but online. 1y
Reggie I hope all of you stay safe. My dad‘s a teacher but they won‘t return until mid September at the earliest. Until then everyone is remote. Good luck! 1y

Homegoing: A novel | Yaa Gyasi
post image

Pearls pick for the month of August will have the Pearls unpacking quite a bit as we read Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
Ghana, eighteenth century: two half sisters are born into different villages, each unaware of the other. One will marry an Englishman and lead a life of comfort in the palatial rooms of the Cape Coast Castle. The other will be captured in a raid on her village, imprisoned in the very same castle, and sold into slavery.
