Recovery has found me rereading this to refresh my memory and I must say it‘s even better the second time around. I always try to have 3-4 books in rotation…a physical book, audio and ebook.

Tiffany D. Jackson sure does know how to tell a story. I have figured out where Monday is yet but my gut has all the feels that something bad has happened. Six weeks of rest and recovery has me scrolling the book websites looking for more books as if I don‘t have bookcases full of books.

Welp…I have 4-6 weeks to read, binge watch tv and catch up on writing my Litsy letters. What are you guys currently reading?

Been home all week thanks to this girl named Covid and she almost took me out but sleeping, sipping hot tea and meds made reading this feel so good!!

Nearest Green has me intrigued…so much so I‘ve started to go down my own rabbit whole to look for information that has been mentioned in this book. A stormy Tuesday night also adds to the ambiance of my reading experience too!

The revamping of my office/Library has been nostalgia to say the least. Pulling these off my shelf had me running down memory lane and feeling quite weepy as I reminisced about my baby boy shopping for books. The bookmark was the icing on the cake and I cannot wait for the time when that baby boy who is now 24 will shop for books with me again.

When your baby sis has a library too! I‘m more than excited to see this and even prouder that she‘ll allow me to add to it. Book are not only tools that help, they‘re magical!

The ramifications should be obvious to him: He has two young teenagers who are home alone. Our mother is sick. We‘re scared. He needs to take care of us, or at the very least offer us some words of comfort. Instead, what he says is, “That is not my problem.” I‘m at a loss for words but not really. This man (their father) wanted something different out of life and that difference was a new woman and a life that did not include his current family.

The chokehold this has me in right now!! Edward is an azz and I‘m pretty sure he‘s sleeping with the assistant. The audacity of him has me heated!! Soledad deserves so much more and honestly could have done better if you ask me. I want to throw the book on the bed and revisit it later but my curiosity is getting the best of me and I need to see how all of this will end.

Lore Olympus has me stopping every few pages and thanking the author for this one! The graphics are beautiful and the storyline is easy to follow. Persephone is beautifully naive. Kudos to my sonshine for gifting me this cheetah blanket!

One of my scholars walked right into class and finished the last 10 pages and cried. The 57 Bus has been on my list for a while but seeing her cry and the emotions while retelling the story to me has me pushing this up the TBR.

My secret teacher pal knows the way to my heart! This beauty was in my mailbox waiting for me to give it a home on my shelf.

The end of the school year has us clearing spaces and slowly prepping for next year. One of the perks of cleaning our spaces is purging things that we no longer want or need. Well…one teachers trash is another teacher ‘s treasure! I scored this baby and I can‘t wait to crack the spine!

Self-care consists of writing letters to all of my bookish friends! I‘m behind…but excited and looking forward to a post office run.

Hattie McDaniel is now on my radar. Society handicapped her in ways that were unjust, unkind and down right hateful at times. History is an important fact of who we are and where we are today. There were many moments during my reading that I had to close the book and say a quick prayer. The author understood the assignment…her words flowed flawlessly and set in my soul in a manner that allows me to truly appreciate who Hattie McDaniel was.

This young scholar is head over heels with this author. Young love has a lasting effect on middle schoolers and it‘s interesting to see their relationships unfold.

This scholar loves a series. She said Mrs. B, RUN not walk and get book 1. The passion in which she described this series has my heart swollen from the sheer joy of listening to her describe what the series is about and watching a few non-readers ask questions.

Finally! This scholar has the best book recommendations and today I was able to take a photo of her with the latest book recommendation. I officially feel old as I am now labeled…”The Book Lady”.

I think every teacher in this building deserves free books and more but my spirit animal deserves the world! She was telling me about this amazing series and turns out I added it to my TBR in 2017.

There‘s something about a fresh new copy, spine not cracked that gives me ALL the feels! I am too excited to dig into this and share my thoughts with a scholar who is now about to graduate from high school!! I‘m honored to know her and even more honored that she still values my opinion.

I‘d Rather Be Reading…A Love Song for Ricki Wilde has me feeling as if I‘m watching a movie waiting for the love connection happen. This slow burn has me curious just enough to push me through and has me wondering where these characters will land.

Scholastic book fair haul…under $20!

Can some please tell Stephen King that he is the G.O.A.T in these middle school streets.

Sooo….this scholar was reading as I was passing by and I immediately stopped to see what she was reading. Y‘all!! Of course I was happy that 1. She was reading 2. I‘m reading a book by this same author and 3. She and I immediately started sharing our thoughts about the author and her writing style. I love when I get to connect with scholars about books or anything surrounding books.

What in world!! I‘m hooked and this came highly recommended. I was a little apprehensive as scary, thriller and horror is not my jam but Mrs. McFadden is doing her thing!

The moment these scholars told me they love to smell the pages of books, they instantly became book club members! I thought I was the only one in the world who did this.

My Friday night read has me wondering what in the world is happening. I‘m a little lost and feel like I need to start over. 😩

Reading is our jam! I love the way these scholars entertain my love of books. A few of them even picked up a recommendation that I gave.

My morning read is turning out to be a good one! “I repeat Mama‘s words in my head and maintain a self-assured silence in the face of his inspection, understanding this part of the test. And no matter what he thinks, he must believe I am a confident, competent white woman.” This almost took me out. Shoutout to my sonshine for the cool bookmark. He was all of 6 when this was gifted. He‘s 24 now!

A story that captivates my scholars is one that I need to have on my shelf!

Reel is giving me all the feels on this sleety Monday afternoon. The snow is about to start soon and this teacher is already praying for an extra day off so that my tea sipping can continue!

This ride is wild!!! I‘ve read the comments and listened to the stories on how this book sits with you but nothing really prepares you for a book like this…I‘m scared, my blood pressure is high and I‘ve already speculated the worst. Mrs. Bailey has left the building!! I‘m exhausted and the next two weeks will be spent sleeping, reading, and sipping tea. I will finally get to tie up loose ends as a few books have gone untouched as well as binge watch a few shows. The biggest flex will be going to the bathroom whenever I want versus two times a day. 😩
