The Pigeon HAS to go to School (F) by Mo Willems is about a Pigeon who really doesn‘t want to go to school. I think children will relate to this book and find it enjoyable to read. Titanicat (HF) by Marty Crisp is the cutest story of a cat and a little boy. I think children would really enjoy this book because of the connection between the cat and the boy and they will also learn a little about the Titanic. I would have children read this independently. The UDL guideline I would use is 3.1 and the ESOL strategy I would use is 29 to offer more information about the Titanic.

This book takes you to a dystopian reality where parents are only allowed to have 2 children. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. I would have children read this as part of a literature circle.

What an amazing book! I never thought I would relate to a 10 year old boy so much. Wonder ( RF) by R.J Palacio takes you through the challenges of a little boy with a facial deformity named August Pullman. Everyone should share this book with their class. I would use literature circles for this book so the children can really discuss all of the aspects together and have healthy discussions.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar (F) is so fun to read to little ones while at the same time educational. This book could be great to teach addition. As you can see by the title it is about a VERY hungry caterpillar! I would do a RA for this book so the children can enjoy the full experience.
