This HF book is AMAZING. What a fabulous book that can be used as a RA in the classroom. When I tell you I felt mind blown at the end, i mean it! This story is based on a true account (which makes it even more shocking). This story truly shows how small decisions can have huge consequences, and how chance & fate play roles in our lives.

Titanicat (HF) by Marty Crisp is the cutest story of a cat and a little boy. I think children would really enjoy this book because of the connection between the cat and the boy and they will also learn a little about the Titanic. I would have children read this independently. The UDL guideline I would use is 3.1 and the ESOL strategy I would use is 29 to offer more information about the Titanic.
It's good luck for a ship to carry aboard a feline luck charm. Well that's what Jim believes, as he's set to work as a cabin boy for the "Unsinkable Titanic" and befriends the ships cat. Cats can also symbolize bad luck or oncoming danger. What will Jim believe in the end in this historical fiction piece. Here's some more superstitions about cats to go along with a discussion: https://user.xmission.com/~emailbox/folklore.htm #ucflae3414sp17 #cats
What a beautifully illustrated children's book about the cat on the Titanic. Picked out at the library today.
