I loved this book as a child and I as so happy to find that I love it even more as an adult. I still relate to Anne as much as I used to, but now I also appreciate Marillda so much more. I feel the need to reread the entire series because the Anne/Gilbert relationship is timeless.

A decent story. So many players that kept the mystery moving forward. While it was easy for me to figure out where the boy came from/where he belonged, I did not see the plot twist around his story coming. This would make a great movie, if done right.

Well, McKinley tried, but got her priorities mixed up. This story was full of plot holes and inconsistencies. More time is spent explaining the back stories than building the actual story.

What a kickass female lead! Not the greatest story, but I think this has a lot of potential for growth in the series. I wish more female characters were like Anita.

It's eerie how realistic this book felt, like I was there on the battlefield. Very well written, and superbly translated. At times I found myself tuning out from the story, but that has more to do with my disinterest in war novels, and not a reflection of the book.

It feels like sacrilege to say this about anything Atwood writes, but I hated this. I loved the premise, but nearly all of the characters were so unlikeable that it was hard to root for any kind of happy ending. But would you even call this a happy ending? I found Charmine an annoying imbecile, and Stan was a hypocritical asshole.

This started out with such promise, but quickly started to feel like Stephanie Meyer writing her own werewolf fanfiction. The romance is down right creep-tastic, and Grace, who begins as a strong female lead, turns into a shallow, whimpering, idiotic, shell of who she started out as. Disappointing.

A very powerful book full of grit and emotion. I loved the character diversity, especially for a "small town in Alabama". Claire's story was more annoying than useful, and I wish there had been perspectives from Tyler, but sometimes it's better not to humanize the "devil". As someone who has worked at a school after a shooting, I can say the author got the emotional pace and uncertainty right.

This was just down right beautiful. Tragic? Yes. But so beautiful. This just became my new all-time favorite King novel. The storyteller weaved a great narrative together to give us Peter's disastrous tale. There are no happy endings, ever.

Not one of my favorite King novels, but still pretty decent. Well written with a creepy story. At times I struggled to keep up with the changing pace of the story. I loved the homage to the original Dracula text.

MrBook I liked the audiobook. Not bad for a fun experiment with the vampire template 😊👍🏻. 8y

Such a long journey, but worth every step. This is one of the best SK novels I have ever read, and his intro really sets you up for a great read. I'm eager to watch the mini-series and compare them. There was a lot of information, background, and characters, but not so much I felt overwhelmed.

After feeling pretty indifferent about the first two books I was really lacking motivation to continue on in the series, and really couldn't care if I ever finished reading it. The Prisoner of Azkaban marks the official point where I fell in love with Harry Potter. The writing gets better. The characters get better, though Harry is still whiny and Draco is a tool, while Snape is a pompous ass, I just love the whole thing.

What a story. So tragic. So freeing. Living several hours from Denali, I hear stories every year of someone trying to retrace McCandless steps, usually with disastrous consequences. It's obvious in this book that Krakauer shares a special connection with the young man he never met.

Ugh! This guy. I appreciate what the author was trying to do here, but I would have rather read about prepping from the experts rather than arm-chair prep through Sheridan's paranoia. This was the adventures of an egotistical, misogynistic, self-obsessed, man. It wasn't that great.
