An #UnpopularOpinion, but this was a book for the #ThoughtYouWouldLikeButDidnt category. I read it 7 years ago, and I can barely remember the story, but my Goodreads review says “Mawkish and sentimental. Pretentious lead characters, under-developed support cast.”

Lucy_Anywhere I've never read any of John Green for this reason, although I love his Crash Course videos on Youtube! 3d
OriginalCyn620 Aww, I loved this one! I can see your point, though. 3d
Scochrane26 I love John Green. This one seems to be most people‘s favorite, but I‘ve had several teens who liked Paper Towns best. And I like a couple of his others better. But, some of his early characters are similar, so you prob wouldn‘t like any. Turtles all the Way Down is different than his others. 3d
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I dint care for any of his books!!! 3d

When Hazel meets Augustus at the cancer kids support group, something changes; no one‘s story is written in stone. Their love is key in their story—can they rescue each other?

To understand the reasons why
And I prefer this mystery
It cancels out my misery”🎶🎶

Saraboo Is the book better than the movie or they are the same? 2w
Eggs @Saraboo Can‘t tell you as I‘ve read only a little of the book 📖 2w
britt_brooke @Saraboo The film is okay, but the book is better. I wasn‘t a fan of the casting. 2w
Saraboo @britt_brooke ok I'm gonna have to read the book then cause I seen the movie and loved it but if the book is better then I'm gonna have to read it. 2w
britt_brooke @Saraboo I think you‘ll love the book then! 💚 2w

This is one of my favourite books. It is for sure such an emotional read. It‘s about a girl named Hazel who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Her parents make her attend a support group. Hazel was not to happy about going but then realized it was a good idea to be there. She met a boy named Augustus and falls in love. It is for sure a roller coaster of emotions while reading this. Love, sadness and romance.

kcaffyn5 I think what the author is trying to put out there is to never take anything for granted, you never know what may come your way. It‘s always important to tell those important people in your life, how much you love them bcuz you won‘t always have tomorrow. (edited) 3w
MissYaremcio Great review Makayla! I am glad you liked this one! Keep up the great work! 3w

This book is an emotional story about friendship and love between two teenagers. Hazel Grace, a cancer patient, who struggles with getting out the house and making friends meets 16- year old Gus who changes her for the better. Hazel Grace is finally able to feel less alone. I recommend this book to anyone who like sad touching stories like “Everything Everything“.

An emotional and teary read, but also a quick read.
It had some excellent quotable parts, and I liked the wit and banter between the two teenagers.

Reading this for a book club.
I know why I've not read it before... it is a little close to my heart with the subject. But it is a well written book. No way will I watch the film! 😭😿

I gotta tell you that this is a very emotional book. All it has is emotions. A teenager would love it. I being a thriller lover couldn't enjoy this book wholeheartedly. But, I don't degrade this one. If you like love stories, emotions etc. this is a right pick for you. It's a small book so definitely give a try.

I loved this book! I read it during my vacation with my boyfriend and loved the story! I actually saw the movie before I found out it was a book and saw it first, but later bought the book straight after watching it. Strongly recommend 📖📖📖📖📖

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is a RF tear-jerker that won the #1 New York Times Bestseller. The story is about a young girl named Hazel that has a terminal brain tumor. She soon meets a man named Augustus, her world flips upside down. I would use this as an IR or PR, depending on the student. #UCFLAE3414SU19

Kendylleonard https://www.varsitytutors.com/englishteacher/fault-in-our-stars-lesson-plans The resource I found has many ideas you could use. Some include the author reading part of the book, vocabulary flash cards, and even discussion questions. This resource encompasses UDL 5.2 and ESOL strategy 29. (edited) 4mo
Mary_Dehner I love love love this book! I did my author study on John Green. He is a wonder YA author that I hope to include in my classroom library one day. 😊 4mo

It seems like it'd be kinda redundant for me to put a review here, cause everyone knows it's good, so let me summarize what I'd otherwise say: it's beautiful, it's funny, it's heartbreaking, and it'll make you cry. Probably a lot. But read it anyway, even though it might hurt you, because it's worth it. Because it leaves you with something important, too.

violabrain When I finished this book, I immediately read it again from the beginning. So good!!! 4mo
Sunshine131 @violabrain If I hadn't been so excited about reading my next book (midnight at the electric) I would have done the same thing! (: 4mo

Getting ready to start reading this classic! I've read it once before, but I'm on a bit of a J Green spree and I'm not sure I fully processed it the first time. I'm ready to cry. 😞 Why do us readers do this to ourselves? Wish me luck!
