The big bad Wolf, ladies and gentlemen. I think I'm going to like this guy.
I'm probably in the minority here, but Cinder was just okay to me. It was a bit too predictable even for a Cinderella retelling. I wish the history and world was a bit more fleshed out, the characters a little deeper. But it promises enough that I'm going to continue on to Scarlet.
I get mostly ebooks cause I live in an apartment and I don't have a lot of room for paper books and I'm emotionally incapable of parting with books even ones I didn't really enjoy. But the faves get the triple treatment. #savegansey #theravencycle #theravenking
What a crazy book! We have giant guardians, ancient witches, dark monsters, resurrected animals and a lake that doesn't ripple. It has sweet parts, sad parts, and parts that frankly creeped me out a little. And mixed in with all of that, Maggie still managed a little humor here and there. 5⭐️
I'm only in book 3 of The Raven Cycle and I'm already dreading the end of the series. Thanks Maggie Stiefvater for the signed hardcovers (seen here behind the White Rabbit) and book hugger (seen here behind Star Lord who is stalking the White Rabbit)!
5⭐️s! Why oh why did I not read this before? I love every character in this book. I love the subtle magic of it all. On to The Dream Thieves! #savegansey #theravencycle #theravenboys #lastline #bookstagram
I finally finished A Gathering of Darkness (by VE Schawb)! Not because it was tedious, but because things are crazy at work. 😑 It was a slower start than A Darker Shade of Magic, but it didn't disappoint in the end. I must say, Lila is equal parts infuriating and awesome. 😆 4.5 ⭐️
A wonderful magical realism book set in 1899 New York City. It provides a unique perspective of America during the Gilded Age through the eyes of the two title characters. The two magical beings found themselves alone, trapped and trying to adjust to the massive, foreign city.
5-stars. It's short, but in no way a sweet story. And despite its appearance, this is not a book for very young kids. 😅 If you're a fan of Rothfuss' work, try this out. The ending will surprise you.
I can't believe I waited this long to read this. Awesome characters. Great world building. No freaking instalove and annoying love-triangle. And I want Kell's coat. 😝 And best of all, Book 2 is out so I can continue on with this adventure!
