This NAACP Image award winning and B picture book by Tony Dungy and illustrated by Amy June Bates. Tony writes about his brother Linden who doesn't know what his IT is. The IT would determine what he dreamed about doing. His brother Tony and his family encourage him to have faith and his IT will come to him. This book definitely does center around religion so be careful when presenting this book but would be great for a IR.

This Newbery Award winning F novel book by Bill Brittain. Thaddeus Blinn who came into Coven Tree selling wishes when 4 individuals take the chance. Eventually 3 of the 4 individuals make a wish which does come true but doesn't meet their expectations. Ultimately they all learn a lesson from their wish. The book has a few illustrations that help the reader visualize what's occurring in the book. I think it'll make students think twice.

The Three Pigs is a TL and Caldecott winning picture book written and illustrated by David Wiesner. This would be a fun book to do a DR and RT. Everyone knows the classic story about the Three Little Pigs, the wolf asked to come in but when the pigs say no, the wolf blew the houses down. He blew so hard the pigs flew out the page. The pigs find themselves in other stories we all know. Great book to connect to with other texts. Such a fun book!

During their field trip they learn about all types of facts about sharks. I love how each page has visuals, different backgrounds, very appealing to the eye, and filled with information.

Kids will relate to a lot of them and have fun reading them all. At least I did!

Enduring multiple social injustices, Stella's family and her community work together to overcome challenges as one. Sharon M. Draper novel is page turner with strong messages of courage. I would use UDL 3.1 to activate prior knowledge about the history during 1932.

Sharing the life of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life of how he used his Big Words to make a difference in history. Martin's Big Words also, discusses some important historical events.
