This is my grandma's favorite book, but I really didn't think I'd like it. I was so wrong! I'm not quite finished, but it's been unputdownable so far. I'm twenty-eight years old; you'd think I'd know by now that Grammy is always right.

I am an absolute sucker for The Return of Martin Guerre.

I wasn't excited about this one at all, but it sucked me in.

in that moment every obstacle looms large as a mountain and orogenes eat mountains for breakfast.

I think the less you know about this book going in the more enjoyable it's going to be. I'm not crazy about the ending and I have mixed feelings about the short choppy sentences, but overall I think this was well worth the time.

Not his best so far, but I'll persevere.

I've been meaning to read this for years, but I can't say I really liked it much. The BFG's voice in my head sounded too much like Dobby and then I was just wishing I was reading Harry Potter. #24in48

I was expecting funny pop feminism To leave me just a little bit angry, and I got it in droves -- but the chapter where Lindy talks about losing her Dad to cancer is the most healing thing I've read since my Mom died three months ago. Must-read for feminism and grief.
