A cross between contemporary and historical fiction. I was hooked all the way through.

I was #influenced by BookTok and read the Throne of Glass series. I will say I enjoyed it, although some parts I found to be a bit slow. If you‘ve read it, what do you think? I‘ve read many different opinions on it on Goodreads. ⬇️
Mab, Osla, and Beth come from very different walks of life to work at Bletchley Park, the top-secret home of WW2 code breakers. Life at BP is full of mysteries, and among them someone might be spilling the secrets. I thoroughly enjoyed Kate Quinn‘s character development, historical references & mystery. 10/10
“Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.” Groucho Marx
I devoured this book in one weekend. The plot twist toward the end caught me off guard and the thrilling conclusion wrapped up the story very well.
It takes a special author to write about difficult things but keep you reading.
Let‘s just say it was so good I immediately grabbed the next one in the series. 10/10
So wonderful to be reading again 📚 and Isaiah‘s Daughter is my top book so far this year.
My crazy fall semester is over and I can get back to reading. Excited to dig into this book I bought at a local bookstore 😍
R. C. Sproul does a great job of concisely explaining the debates between Augustine & Pelagius and getting to the core of the issue.
This book was an assigned reading for one of my graphic design classes. Long story short: I am blown away by this book.
“An unbelieved truth can hurt a man much more than a lie.” 1:30 am, August 1, found the quote that describes the first half of my year, and bleeding on the pages.
“You can‘t make a racehorse of a pig.”
“No,” said Samuel, “but you can make a very fast pig.”
I must say that I am pleasantly surprised at Steinbeck‘s character development. It takes a good writer to be able to change a characters name 45% into the book and have the reader know who he‘s talking about.
I initially didn‘t want to buy this book, but this note made the decision for me, I had to have it as my own.
I have lost count of how many times I laughed throughout this book! A great read!
"It is tiring and unhealthy to lose your Saturday afternoons, but to have them free because you don't matter, that is much worse. -C. S. Lewis on Inner Rings (Cliques).
Went to a gallery and this jewel of an art piece was standing there. It reminded me of Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. #wordsonfire
This year my friends were wondering what I wanted for my birthday, so I asked them to give me THEIR favorite book with a note in it for me. One of my friends gave me The Book Thief, and scattered notes throughout the whole book. All I can say is my heart was shattered by this beautiful work of written art. Read it!
This book is my favorite book by Lewis right after Mere Christianity. He never ceases to blow my mind with his ability to dig deep into a subject.
It has been over 100 years since this book was first published and yet it has remained a fresh read, conquering its way into the hearts of new generations. A piece of my heart will always remain with Anne-girl.
I have read this book 4 times and I will keep on rereading it! Oh, how I would love to get my hands on this beautifully bound classic! 😍
"If you look for perfection, you'll never be content." -Tolstoy in Anna Karenina
10/10. C. S. Lewis has something to say on every subject and is a master at explaining things seemingly unexplainable.
A great read for those searching to deepen and get the most out of their prayer life.
