“He was a man of black and white. And she was color. All the color he had.” I just love this imagery!
Starting A Man Called Ove today! I liked Beartown, and I heard this one was even better!
I‘m just not engaged, so I‘m bailing. I might come back to it at a later time, but right now I have too many other books I want to read!
**update** I ended up finishing this one when I was in a better state of mind! It is good you just have to get past the first part.
I‘ve never read historical fiction, but I was captivated since the first page I read! I cried several times! Very emotional.
I love this book so far...almost half way through!!! I don‘t normally start off liking a book, but have with this one. On another topic, how do you position yourself when you read? Pillows, a chair? Sometimes I can‘t get comfy because I have a bad shoulder!
Onto my third book of the year!!! I‘m only on page 8 and I‘m already intrigued!
Beartown...I feel torn about rating this book because I didn‘t love it at first. Fredrik writes beautifully, but there were many stories to follow and could be confusing. It started to pick up about half way through. The ending is very captivating and he makes you feel everything each character goes through! I would recommend it based on that! 4/5 stars
I just finished Beartown, and have two books (in the flesh) that I want to read now. Which one to choose?!? #bookwormproblems
I‘ve heard so many great reviews about this book, but I‘m having trouble getting into it! I‘m not a sports fan...so I don‘t know, I keep waiting for something to happen! I‘m about 1/3 or more through the book.
“Being a parent makes you feel like a blanket that‘s always too small. No matter how hard you try to cover everyone, there‘s always someone who is freezing.”
This stood out to me! I can relate to that feeling!
I went into the bookstore intending on buying only Beartown buuuuut they were having a “buy two get one free” sale! I don‘t know much about the other books but they look interesting! I can‘t wait to get started!
I really enjoyed this book! I haven‘t been reading lately, and this sparked my love of reading again. The main character is a female and she takes you on a journey through the toilsome path of a failing marriage. It is mysterious, and has you thinking you know where it is leading. Then suddenly, the plot twists and it wasn‘t what you thought. The beginning was just ok, but once that first twist came about I was hooked!
I love this book! I‘m currently at the last two chapters! I haven‘t picked up a book in awhile, and this has sparked my love of reading again.
