The Drifter by Christian Lennon was a Christmas present from my MIL. 💙 📖—->A few college girls at UF have a tragic experience on campus, which ultimately leaves unanswered questions. All they can think about is “what-if.” In the end, was this crime...preventable? This novel is geared towards Floridians, high school or college students. @BookishMarginalia
Finished. Set in 80's & 90's, first in Florida then moving to New York. Inspired by a real serial killer. But don't expect any high octane thrills or stomach dropping twists. This is a softer book, about friendship and the ripples one moment can have in a person's life, how a single event can color a lifetime.

pickDon't let the cover or description deceive, this is not a thriller, horror, or mystery. This is about three young women in 1990 Gainesville, and one is killed by a serial killer (based on actual events). Part one sets the tone of alcohol fueled youth shaken by the murderer arriving. The rest is about the next 20 years-- living with regrets, losing friends, climbing into middle age without a clear direction in life. I really liked this.
Just finished this audiobook . It's good. Not great. The twist is not that shocking . The narrator was alright except for all the men sounded the same so it was hard to keep up with who was talking
Just started this the other day on audio.
pickAs a Georgia girl that went to a college in the 80's about an hour north of University of Florida, this story hit very close to home to me. It's based on how the author felt as she attended UF during the time that Danny Rolling murdered several women on campus. I could not put this down. Recommending to all my friends!

With the help of my 🐶 friend, I'm currently halfway through THE DRIFTER, by Christine Lennon (coming winter 2017) and wow is it hair raising so far!! It's inspired by the Gainesville Ripper in the 1990s and is creepy but also tackles questions about female friendship. Our protagonist, Betsy's life is changed forever when her best friend is murdered.
