This is a wonderful story that I have every intention of reading with my daughter, to make our own family tradition

Interesting fiction novel that combines a tale of St. Nicholas with the Christian Christmas story. Different holiday traditions, both pagan and Christian are mentioned in this book.

I absolutely adored this book and the way the author wove the story of Saint Nicholas in with the truth about Jesus. It was beautifully done & a great start to the #24B42019 readathon! ?
"The entirety of his life to this point had merely been to prepare him for what he was to do next: bring hope to the hopeless and joy to the joyless. He would serve mankind by reminding them every year that a King had been born who had died for their sins."
Yet another reason I love the Litsy community. You all love each other so well 💜 My family & I love Christmas & the hope Jesus brings, but we just lost my grandpa (the funeral was today), so we are definitely struggling to celebrate this season. I will #joinin & be here for any other Littens who need company, a virtual hug, prayers, anything!
Not a true story about St. Nicholas wielded into fiction, but rather an imaginative view of the story of Christ viewed through the eyes of a wandering man and protector with a good heart, but who himself is seeking answers of what it means to find or have faith. The first third was the most intriguing for me as the book started to feel more like a channel for teaching the Christian faith than telling a new story. Lovely read for this time of year.
This book is heartbreaking but also offers hope. What did you think of it?
