Book 8 is another great installment.
A little spice, lots of drama, LOADS of action & some humor.

A mercenary swordswoman, a werelion, a teenage sensate & a warlord having dinner at Applebees is a bit funny. The series continues not to take itself too seriously while still developing the characters & taking them to the brink in unique ways.

TheSpineView I have not read this series yet. It is on my list! 1y

5feet.of.fury @TheSpineView it‘s so good! The first couple are kind of slow but they get addicting & better as they go 1y

Today‘s #LittensDressedinBlood prompt:
Zombie Squad

I would love having the Kate Daniel‘s crew on my side in a battle against zombies.

Hell of an ending section there (meaning the last chapter, not the epilogue). So epic.

I'm managing to keep a one book lead over my wife's reading spree, but the lead is narrowing...

Kate and Curran have discovered that living in suburbia comes with its own battles. When the monsters follow you home and are ripped apart on the front lawn, it might push some neighbors over the edge. Each of these books are sheer adrenaline filled action. And don‘t forget the sarcastic humor between Curran and Kate that makes it all the more entertaining. #fantasy

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I don't know how this woman does it but each book just gets better and better in this series. Which is insane cause they were all so damn good before that I didn't think anything could be better! Only 2 books left now.

Curran-“He was putting things into the mailbox. I was passing by and I said “hello, nice night.” And then I smiled. He jumped into his truck and slammed the door.”
Kate-“So you sneaked up behind him, startled him by speaking, and when he turned around and saw a six-hundred-pound talking lion, you showed him your teeth?”
Curran-“I don‘t think that‘s what happened.”

I've read all the books I had for this month's swaps and clubs and such so I'm starting this one. I only have 3 books left in the series so I've been trying to hold off cause I'm so not ready for it to end yet but I can't hold out anymore. I miss Kate and her world! So here we go!

ravenlee One of my top three series of all time. I did a reread of the whole thing from last summer until whenever I finished, and it was as much fun as I remembered! 5y
InBooksILive @ravenlee one of my favorites as well. I just found out about it late last year and I've been obsessed since! 5y

Kate and Curran are learning how to be something other than Beast Lord and Consort; Kate is also getting the feel for being responsible for Atlanta; and K&C need to find Eduardo without mucking up Pack waters. Lots going on (though less than the previous installment) and it‘s all awesome.

Eduardo has disappeared and Kate and Curran need to figure out what could kidnap a werebison. Answer: something that requires a lot of their kick-ass firepower.

Almost done with my series reread! (Now to read down my library stack a bit!)

wen4blu I just started this series! 6y
ScientistSam @wen4blu hope you love it as much as I do! Have you read any other Ilona Andrews's series? 6y

Yet another amazing edition to the series. When a friend is kidnapped by a djinn, Kate drops everything to help. The reader learns more about Curran's adopted parent, Mahon and his weird views on how werebears are the greatest of all shapeshifters. Kate has dinner with her dad. Excited for the next one!

Another fabulous instalment with our favourite ass kicker, Kate. The action was non stop again with another clever storyline keeping Kate on her toes. My only minus here was that there wasn't enough Derek!

LOVED it!! These are consistently good which I find usually doesn't happen in a longer running series.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I really love this series, the world building is great and I love the way they dip into so many mythologies! 8y
Christy2318 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yes!! These books have sparked my curiosity about a lot of the mythologies that I don't know much about. I out put off reading this one for a few weeks because I knew after this I would have to wait for the next book. 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa The next one comes out this summer! 8y

JPrecht I'm usually a stickler for reading a series in order. Would you recommend that with these? 8y
Christy2318 @JPrecht - These absolutely have to be read in order. The story progresses in each book. The first one is Magic Bites. 8y

Hands down my favorite series. I love a heroine who knows life hurts and making the right choices will cost her but does it anyway. Great writing, well done character development and a cool plot for each book plus great over arching plots make this series phenomenal.

i don't know how you get 8 books into a series and have them get better & better, but Andrews manage it. SHIFTS might be my favorite yet, and not least because Curran & Kate are still Fighters Extraordinaire, but also now firmly embedded in a community. so much ❤️!

Cobscook LOVE this series. Don't read much urban fantasy anymore, but is one is a must read 9y
