Farah was a nice, sassy, character and Dorian was likable. I loved how this had some dark themes: it was easier to relate to characters knowing some things about their pasts.

Some revelations weren't surprises, they were easy to guess. That's always didappointing.

This was still a decent and entertaining story.

My first novel from Kerrigan Byrne after repeated recommendations! I definitely enjoyed this first experience, I found myself really charmed by it all, even when it was dark. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

My third from Byrne, and she hasn‘t disappointed so far. Farah and Dougan grew up in an orphanage together as best friends and pledged their futures to each other. After defending her thru murder he is thrown in jail for 7 years and dies. Farah becomes a strong, independent woman who meets Dorian, an underworld kingpin and marries him to regain her birthright and seek revenge for Dougan. This one‘s very dark, with a tortured, controlling hero.🔻

Well this was a rollercoaster of emotion. I love bad guy romance heroes, give me a villain any day! The Highwayman has one of the better I‘ve read with Dorian Blackwell and the love of his life Farah! The only thing is I‘d have left out a huge chunk of the end, the “twist” didn‘t fit with the rest of the story. There was also some issues I had with mental illness being fixed by love that doesn‘t work but over all 4 solid stars!

My first Kerrigan Byrne book and it was so good! Dorian was so injured and full of pain. Farah knew what she wanted and was going to get it. A great book!

Dougan and Farah meet as children in an orphanage and protect each other. When terrible things happen Dougan dies and Farah works for Scotland Yard.

After 17 years Dorian, a notorious criminal kidnaps Farah. They both hold secrets and Farah agrees to marry him to accomplish revenge.

Dorian Blackwell convinces Farah to marry him, so she can gain her family name back, but Dorian isn't who he says he is. I really liked this book, and I will definitely read more books from this author

This began strong and then fell into way too common romance tropes. There are dark themes here, but none of them are quite developed as much as I would have liked. This was part of the #audibleromancepackage and the audio is well done. #romantsy

I usually prefer my romance novels to have a little more humor. Tessa Dare makes me laugh out loud, which is why I love her books so much. Byrne‘s first Victorian Rebels novel is more serious. However, it‘s a wonderful story with great characters and I read it in one day. I loved watching the relationship between Dorian and Farah develop and the secondary cast was great, too. Added bonus-she doesn‘t use any weird euphemisms in her sex scenes.

Solid, steamy historical romance! And I'm always a sucker for the Scottish Highlands setting. A new-to-me author, but I'll definitely check out more of her stuff ❤️ #romantsy

Read the first the Victorian Rebels series in one sitting today. 😍❤️ A little darker than I expected but so good! I've never read Kerrigan Byrne before, and this definitely won't be my last! #romantsy

This reads like an old school bodice ripper without the purple prose. It's dark & emotional & explores the effects of abuse & neglect as a child into adulthood. Things wrap up too quickly and neatly from a realism standpoint but romance does require the HEA. If you ever thought 50 Shades could have been a great story if there had been more emphasis on the psychological aspects of the relationship then this is your book. #romantsy #osrbc
