Book 1 in the Wicked Trilogy. This is a fun new series set in NOLA or if you prefer New Orleans. Ivy is a great character and when you add her side kick Tink and Ren the most unlikely hero she would see herself with…well you‘ve got the making for a fairly good read. Be warned it is slow to start but worth sticking with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why in the world was I going to college? I could be in bed, all cuddled up and shit, dreaming about hot men with abs covered in powdered sugar.
4.6⭐️ this book was a little slow for me to get into, but picked up quicker than I thought it would. I loved the slow but burning romance, the action and the different twist that take place in the story. I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of this trilogy and re-reading them in the future. This was also my #doublebookspin from June. It‘s late, but done.
The moment you realize that the majority of your reads this month are all Fae related. Definitely not something I planned for, and it makes it slightly difficult to read multiples without getting confused.
I think Armentrout is becoming a favorite author. They are ridiculous and a bit of insta love but I just can‘t stop reading once I start! There‘s magic, fey, silly pop culture references. Also the character Tink made me laugh out loud literally. #bookspinbingo
The style of writing did take me longer than expected to get used to, as the book really shows us the MC, Ivy's thoughts, however I did find this funny and it definitely gave the book personality. I loved the plot, it was definitely a different spin on fae which I enjoyed. I loved the setting of New Orleans, and I loved the romance with Ren. Tink was hilarious, I liked the mix of comedy and tension, and the perfect cliffhanger at the end.
I just recently discovered Jennifer L Armentrout and I have bought a few of her books to read. Now just to read them! Don‘t think I would have picked this cover up myself but I trust it will be good!
I‘m trying to reacquaint myself with my TBR while on a book buying ban for the month!

Forgot to post yesterday so doing two tonight for the #Top20Series.
Day 6 is the Wicked series. I love all of JLA's books but there are two that have been my favorites so far. This is one. Set in New Orleans, Ivy and Ren are part of the Order, their job is to hunt and kill Fae. There is sexiness in here so not recommended for those who do not like that.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed Wicked. It was fun, fast paced, swoon worthy, and action packed. Also, I now have a new favorite character named Tink. He made the book for me and every time there was a scene in the book with him I would laugh out loud. He‘s super funny and cute. I can‘t wait to read Torn.

Not great urban fantasy. Maybe my expectations were too high. It was slow and I‘m having a hard time connecting with the characters. It picked up a little at the end.
Finished this audio a couple days ago. I'm really enjoying this author and her audiobooks. This is the first in a trilogy, I think. Ivy is a 21year-old living in New Orleans and works for the Order, hunting Fae. But something even worse is coming. And there is also this new guy to her Order, Ren, from out of town, with his own agenda. Love Ren!
I would give this book 3.5 stars.
I really do like a romance that had some sassy banter between the characters, and this had that. However, there were times that I felt that Ren came on too strongly. As a soldier type, he should have more discipline than he displays verbally. The actress‘s male voice in the audiobook really didn't have a good pitch. It just made some of the whack-ass things that Ren was saying sound that much more ridiculous.
I love using stickers in my planner to document my reading. I just got some cute ones from my friend, Monica! Audiobooks, ebooks, library trips, oh my! 😍
The other day I felt so discombobulated because I had 7 books going at once...so on my day off yesterday I finished 3 of them! I'm super proud of myself (even though I was like 2/3 of the way done with all of them; it's not like I read 3 full books in a day 😂). Of course, now all I want to do is start new books, so the cycle continues...
Jennifer Armentrout has confirmed that Passionflix has opted Wicked for film. Movie release will be 2019. I'll check the series soon.

I love this book! I am a sucker for anything JLA writes! Tink is the cutest and funniest character ever!

I fell into this book right from the start. I really liked Ivy, she was brave and kicked butt where ever she went, but because she had a hard time letting people in, it was hard to connect to her...at times. I also loved Ren. He was a perfect match for Ivy and made the story exceptionally swoon worthy. But I think the story stealer was Tink. He had me cracking up. I wish it wouldn't have taken me so long to read this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
