A classic and could help to get students interested in reading.
A classic and could help to get students interested in reading.
Our B turns 5 (you read that right) this week. Our family spends Saturdays visiting the bookstore and grabbing lunch together. We still do the library, and our library is AWESOME, but there is something so exciting about visiting the bookstore and hanging out together. And of course we see the changes at home too. It‘s such a fun thing to watch a book nerd grow up. ❤️
I‘ve said it since he was born: Raise Readers. #raisereaders
I‘ve spent LOADS of time this week being told how funny Captain Underpants is, by enthusiastic young readers. Or ordering in different titles for children who have read everything Underpants we have. Or just hunting for Dav Pilkey books, cos they refuse to stay on the shelf.
So this evening I decided to actually read one… Turns out they are quite fun. And I did like the Flip-E-Rama section. I might even be up for reading more.
Tra-La-Laaa!
never underestimate the power of captain underpants
who wouldn‘t want to pick up something called captain underpants?
I love this book. I think it is great for getting children into reading and having a fun time doing it. It is silly and uplifting
“Only one thing can help us now,” said
George.
“What?” asked Harold.
“Rubber doggy doo-doo,” said George.”
Overall, a fun series. The series relies on potty humor and I think that really speaks to what the kids can find funny at the intended age rage. Also is perfect for reader withADHD.
Graphica. Captain Underpants is a series series a graphic novels. This book is the first book in the series. The books have energetic, fun filled illustrations that enrich the text and really give it that comic book feel. Some may say this series is filled with too much disrespect and potty humor to be appreciate for kids. But I think it really can speak their language and help older kids enjoy reading.
George and Harold were usually responsible kids. Whenever anything bad happened, George and Harold were usually responsible.
I love when George and Harold first hypnotize their principle and when he first transforms into the famous hero!
Another one of my favorites! Captain Underpants is a funny adventure as two mischievous fourth graders hypnotize their mean principle into thinking he is a superhero. The superhero of course is Captain Underpants who fashions a pair of whitey tighties and a red cape.
“Captain Underpants was faster than a speeding waistband.... more powerful than boxer shorts...“
These books tell the funny adventures that Captain Underpants goes on....
The Adventures of Captain Underpants series was written by Dav Pilkey. I never really read these books as a kid. I really liked the illustrations in the book. In addition, I really like the pages that have the comic book look to them.
When your 7 year old tells you how to take a photo of him in his #CaptainUnderpants pajamas to send to Grandma.
Graphic Novel. sooooo funny for children! one of my favs from elementary school
tra la la la laaaaaa. sorry i love that when he dose that lol. i love captain underpants captain under pants series revolves around two fourth-graders, George Beard and Harold Hutchins, living in Piqua, Ohio, and Captain Underpants, an aptly named superhero from one of the boys' homemade comic books, who accidentally (“kinda on purpose“) becomes real when George and Harold hypnotize their cruel, bossy, and ill-tempered
Watched the holiday special of Captain Underpants and AlienXmas in on Netflix. 11 pts #teamreadnosedreindeer #wintergames 2020 @StayCurious

When I taught elementary school my students loved this series. I never read it. Tonight, I needed something light. I'm glad I finally checked it out. It was actually funny.
So far the book Captain underpants is good. It's very humorous and entertaining. For example, they create a superhero that acts pretty foolish but hilarious. Overall it's a good book so far. I do recommend this book for people who love to laugh and like pictures/ illustrations in the book, it's funny but maybe it wouldn't appeal to people who don't appreciate childish humor.

(Day 30 - #WhiteFlag)
*I‘m such a kid. When I see a white flag, it makes me think of “running underwear up the flagpole,” which used to be a joke back when my dad was in school (the year would be 1950—I don‘t know if anybody knows the joke nowadays). Then that reminded me of the Captain Underpants books by Dav Pilkey, which are set in Piqua, Ohio. I probably don‘t need to say anymore—I‘m pretty sure you guys think I‘m nuts by now.
#QuotsyMay19 Day 5: #Responsible for mischief, evidently. Apparently, there‘s quite a lot of hoohah about George and Harold. Kinda like Ernie and Bert. 🧚🏼♀️😂📚💕
Captain Underpants, written and illustrated by Dav Pilkey, is a (F) banned graphic novel for kids in grades 3-6. There is a whole series and other series by the same author about this character, Captain Underpants. It is comedic, dramatic, and filled with toilet humor.
Sorry I‘m not posting anymore I‘m quitting #quitting
“Mr. P why are you trying to get rid of laughter? Isn‘t laughter the best medicine?”
This series was my favorite when I was a little kid. Every book has a new adventure that you get to follow along with. I could never put the books down. This would be a great series to have in your elementary classroom so your students can also follow along the adventures of Captain Underpants.
Realistic Contemporary Fiction Published 1997
This series is based off of two fourth grade students and Captain Underpants. Every book is about a new adventure that these boys take on.

I love it
My little girl's last night as a 7 year old and this is what she chooses to read with me. I will not grumble because it won't be long before she will not want to read and snuggle with her momma. 😭😭💖 Happy birthday my baby girl.
My boy's loved his books!!! Way to go Dav!
My 6 year old gives this book two thumbs up. We have almost finished all the dog man books so decided to try another Pilkey book. The humour was right up my son‘s alley and we both liked learning that Pilkey orginally creates captain underpants when he was in grade 2.
My youngest has his TBR ready for the #readathon this weekend. He was worried that 11 Pokemon volumes and two Dog Man books wouldn‘t be enough, so I got him a ten book set of Captain Underpants (at a ridiculous outlet offer, they were practically the price of one book). He has read three of them before, but still figures maybe he has enough books that he can read one Dog Man book before the readathon. 😂
1 - I don't read a lot of funny books but this series is one of best and funniest kids books I've ever read.
2 - July.
3 - 2 boys, 11 and 13.
4 - Reece Peanut Butter cups.
5 - Happy Birthday!!

#audiocoloring and #audiogaming with my guys! Perfect evening. We chuckled quite a bit while listening to this. #hoopla #litsyloveslibraries
Raising them right. I love that my kids love books
Definitely my child 😍
This was our latest bedtime chapter book and I was informed by my 4yo that this was "waaaaay better" than the last book we read. Who doesn't love adventure and flying underpants?! ??? #80of2018
A fun, silly read for dormant readers, developing readers or really anyone who loves reading. I can't believe it took me this long to read a book from this series. Yes it's completely ridiculous, but sometimes that's exactly what you need. 🙂 #Lilythelibrarydog agrees 🐶
The first book from my #middlegrade #TBR pile. I can't believe I haven't read one from this series yet. I'm way over due!!!
