Queer: A Graphic History | 
pickA bit more dense than I expected from a graphic history—but that‘s because it‘s a history of queer theory and theorists, rather than of the gay liberation movement like I expected. It was pretty interesting and definitely informative. Queer theory is very complicated and entangled.
The Development and Engagement director at Lambda Literary posted on Instagram that they‘re looking for shelfies! They are sick of using stock images only to crop/zoom and see books with titles relating to extraneous topics. pickI'm concentrating on reading my library books so I can get them returned and then concentrate on reading my owned TBR books.
This was informative, thoughtful and thought provoking, and I wouldn't mind having it in my personal library.

pickReally love Barker's collection of non-fiction graphic novels. I look forward to reading Sexuality, another book in the same set. I also fully recommend Webtoon for anyone looking for very casual reading 💕
pickThis graphic novel was an indepth look at Queer Theory and how it seems to discuss and dive into various Social topics surrounding queer culture, activism etc. The title is a little misleading as I thought I was getting a history of what it means to be Queer. Overall, this is a well done and depth look at Queer Theory that makes it accessible to the masses.

pickThis was very cool. Super informative, gave me a good overview of queer theory and history, with a lot of research left to do on many topics. I really enjoyed the pictures as well as the humor mixed in. Definitely unique and fun.

Still trying to regain some balance with migraine/fatigue cycles, but feeling good enough this afternoon to challenge my brain a little. It‘s tricky; I tend to want to read comics quickly, but I really have to slow down, reread and process new ideas pretty much every page. Makes me wish I had taken any college courses in gender studies or sexuality.⬇️
Hi littens! Had a really heavy migraine/fatigue spell at the end of the school year, but I‘m think I‘m starting to get back on my feet with some help from a new preventative. Have been reading a bunch of stuff that I hope to post on, this is one of my #currentlyreading pile to start pride. So far I think it‘s a good overview of the *boatload* of queer history that I definitely did not learn in school. ⬇️
so-soSo. I get heckin' tired of the ubiquity of hetero-normative and binary assumptions of the culture at large and amongst my friends. Yet LGBTQIA etc. gets to feel like reciting pi. This book wasn't what I thought it was. I expected a graphic exploration of queer experience: it turned out to be an illustrated, text-heavy summary of queer theory. Very academic. Much went over my head as I was reading more quickly than I'd have liked (Overdrive book).
pickThis was a fantastic intro to Queer Theory. I did not know what I was getting into when I picked this up but loved it and learned a lot. Borrowed from the library but definitely something I need a copy of.
pickEnlightening, educational, mind-blowing, and fills many gaps in my knowledge. Highly recommend. I would now like to discuss this with everyone in my life.
pickA fun foray back into academia! I'm not really the intended audience for this graphic introduction to queer theory ("history" is a bit of a misnomer) as I've read a fair number of the primary texts by Foucault, Butler, etc. So I doubt myself a bit when I say I think the concepts are clearly explained and that the book is pretty accessible. I especially liked how they addressed the lack of attention to race and bisexuality in most queer theory.

pickA pretty good intro to Queer Theory, I think the authors did their best to make a very complicated subject matter as accessible as they knew how. The illustrations really helped break up the text into more understandable tidbits, as even though each entry was around one page, it did get dense at points.
pickA great introduction to queer theory and how it relates to life. This book would make a good starting point for those wanting to do further research into queer theory.
pickFirst of all a little more apt title for the book might be "Queer Theory: A Graphic History". It does cover other things but a examination of queer theory/ theories lies at its heart. If you know this, I think, you get a nice introduction which shys not away from showing contradictions. Some takes in this book l are at least debatable, but the book gives you a lot of starting points for further discussions and readings.
