June wrap-up: I thought I'd focus on #LGBTQIA books and authors for #PrideMonth, but that's not quite what happened.
23 reads
🎧 7 audio (2 nonfiction)
💥10 graphic novels/manga (2 nonfiction)
📖1 physical book
🖼 5 picture books (3 nonfiction, 1 poetry)
And 12 books by LGBTQIA authors or about LGBTQIA characters

Top 3 is too competitive this month to choose!

A really sweet and tragic story about Albert, who had to give up love bc of the homophobia rampant in the fifties. Now he's about to retire and realizes that the times are different and maybe it's not too late to be himself. Very cute and heartbreaking, mostly follows Albert's story but we also follow Nicole's story, which tbh felt less developed #pridemonth #gay

One last pride book that came in yesterday. I figure I‘ll squeeze this one in before I start my July reads so the next person in line can have it.

This was such a sweet story. I loved every second of it. I can‘t wait for the second book to come in from the library. Ari and Dante are the best!!!

Not all the books I read are here, but I‘m a lil disappointed I didn‘t read more queer books this month. In other news, I did finally turn in my research proposal so find me in a lab for the next seven months 🤪

Rosie,a medical doctor and her husband Penn, a writer live in Wisconsin and have five boys. Their youngest, five year old Claude, wants to be a girl when he grows up. So,Claude starts to wear dresses and “the secret”begins. When the truth is discovered, Rosie takes Claude with her to Thailand, where she is working at a clinic. A whole new world of acceptance, beauty and understanding opens up to both of them. I loved this book. #pridemonth

Pride Month: Last Day! 😭❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

For this last day of June I decided to feature one of my favorite contemporary authors and the two books that made me fall in love with his writing! They are absolute perfection! 📚💕

Pride Month: Day Twenty Nine! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

This wonderful book features the story of Sylvia Beach and the publication of Ulysses! And while I obviously loved reading about James Joyce and Ulysses, I also really loved how the author took a lot of time to craft a beautiful story about the love between Sylvia and Adrienne Monnier, which is an aspect of her life that I think gets overlooked often!

SOOOOOOOO unnatural!!! I‘m with Dante. I don‘t like shoes either. I wear them when I have to, and they come off as soon as I can get away with it.

Hooked_on_books Totally agree! My feet are bare as often as possible! 1mo
batsy Yep. Shoes can be nice to look at but generally not a great place for feet to be in 😂 1mo
