Trying to catch up on reviews- read these in May #cozy
Enjoyed both.Death on Tap set in Washington state, in a Bavarian themed town. Sloane is a brewmaster, whose estranged Husband has a wandering-eye. She leaves with family business to work with a new brewery in town. Murder & mayhem ensue. Of Books and Bagpipes combines a Scottish bookshop, rare manuscripts & objects, past secrets, castles & Sottish lore. Recommend both.
Very cozy on my porch reading a #cozy. #porchlife

Plan to finish Maddy today. #sundaybuddyread.
Lost ESR somewhere in the house( tells you its state) so started #cozy OBAB last night.Plan to hunt for the first & continue with the second mystery.Kosovo is slow going only because the devastation, rubble of its war torn capital, Prishtina,& the Albanian people, traumatized, yet resilient and hopeful, cause me to pause, reflect, research the war,& take a much needed step away as I read.
I didn‘t want anyone to miss out on MY fashion icon, Janet Yellen. Fancy dress and hat? PFFFTTTT.
We spent the afternoon in the hot tub and I‘m getting ready to put the dulcet tones of Tom Hanks and company on at 8:30 pm. Cheers and stay warm!
That‘s Eugene Goodman, (on left in tan coat), the hero from two weeks ago TODAY, escorting the VP-Elect. Ohhhh, it‘s a beautiful day.
Might get more reading done later; I‘m enjoying Books and Bagpipes, but it‘s been a preoccupied couple of weeks. Champagne is cold!
Finally did some reading last night, after a few days spent exclusively following the news. What a week.
Really enjoying this second installment in the Scottish bookshop mystery series; intriguing and light-hearted, but somber at times as well.
This morning we had a lovely sunrise after a gorgeous day of sunshine yesterday. Rare for this time of year in Michigan!
Going to move on to a lighter read this afternoon. My country is convulsing with hate and ignorance right now, and the optimism I felt this morning is all draining out. Thankful as always for Litsy.
Grey and not much snow on the ground. Hopeful the sun will break through soon.
The #24b4monday readathon is starting soon! This is a tentative TBR. I'm going for the cozies this weekend. Even better, I've taken the weekend off, so the 24 hour goal is actually doable for me this time.

I really liked this book. It was an intricate mystery with a good ending explanation. Delaney is an American working as a researcher at an antique bookstore in Scotland. She finds a dead body on a errand to pick up a book. There is a lot of Scottish history and atmosphere. Turns out it is book 2 in a series so I'm starting The Cracked Spine book 1 now🙂. Ironically on my wish list is book 4 before I even tried this author.
I enjoyed this book just as much as the first book in the series. It took me a while to read it through the chaos of moving, but I found myself thinking about it when I wasn't reading it. Looking forward to the next book.
Going to read this book next. I enjoyed the first one, so hopefully I'll like this one too.
It took me most of the day, but I finally got my kitchen island put together while listening to the 2nd book in the "Scottish Bookshop Mystery" series.
A solid second book in the series. I didn't guess the killer and there were some unexpected twists but it seemed like a little too much going on at times. I do enjoy the secondary characters a great deal but Edwin sometimes irritates me more than a little.
Finally got my hold from the library! I very much enjoyed the first book in this cozy mystery series so I can't wait to settle in and read this second one.
All right, Littens: let's play! Finish this sentence, post an image, and tag me, please. "When I'm not reading, I'm _____________." Unless your love life is the answer, in which case - less graphic photos happily accepted! ? In my case: if I'm not reading, I'm making a stunning racket on these beauties!
I debated whether this was a pick or a so-so. I opted for so-so, because while I enjoyed it, there were too many characters that had info but wouldn't divulge it, despite the murder investigation, and everyone just accepts that. And while I like Delaney a lot, I was annoyed with how she constantly puts herself in harm's way. It's just a little too ridiculous even for an amateur sleuth.
Hotel room reading, while my boo gets ready. Enjoying some quiet time before we head to church to see my nephews get confirmed.
